ENERGY AUDIT
Last week Pathways Sustainability students conducted a thermostat temperature check on fifteen rooms in the main building, BER building, Upper Junior and Senior classrooms. The group found that heater temperatures ranged from 18C to 22C only two areas required temperatures reduced. This is a great result demonstrating that we are responsible with energy use.
A good thermostat setting for winter comfort and energy efficiency is between 18C and 20C. Each degree above this range can increase energy consumption. Every degree above 20C can increase heating costs by ten percent. Lowering by a few degrees can lead to significan energy savings.
