Junior and Senior Dance - Danc'ed in the Spotlight

This term the Junior and Senior dance team attended Danc'ed in the Spotlight, held at The Star Casino. Students had the chance to rehearse their dance routines on stage, practicing positions, and setting the stage lights for the show later that night. Students participated in a hip hop workshop and we got to see four of our seniors dance alongside other local primary and high school students, in the opening musical theatre number; The Greatest Show. The night consisted of dressing room chaos, rushing through backstage corridors and onto the main stage, and cheering each other on from the audience balconies. The seniors nailed their pirouettes, high kick and backflips. Rock-a-by your bear had the audience singing along!

Allschools Touch Football

Congratulations to our four touch football teams that competed at the Allschools touch football carnival. All teams did an amazing job competing in very tough competition. The weekend was eventful to say the least, with games being shuffled and game duration times changed due to the storms and lightning. This didn’t stop our students and parents who adapted quickly and got stuck into the job at hand. After some tough games all of our teams qualified for finals day.

First up was our Year 5 girls (playing in the Year 6 division) who showed tremendous heart with only have two sub players all weekend. The girls dug deep and went down swinging in the quarterfinals with some great wins under their belt over the weekend.

Next up was our Year 6 girls who went down in the final round but did themselves proud! Even though they suffered some injuries into finals day, it didn’t stop them showing tremendous heart with several players pushing themselves to help the team.

After some tough competition, the junior boys finished top of their pool which put them into the championship division for finals. They got through the first game and into the quarter finals. The junior boys went down in the second half, but they all dug deep and played outstandingly.

Finally, our junior girls were up, and they played their hearts out. They battled against some tough teams to make it the grand final. After a close game, the girls went down 3 - 1 in the dying minutes. They still walked away with runner up medals!

We are extremely proud of all of our teams and are very excited to be back next year.  A massive thank you to all the parents for a great weekend. A huge shout out and thank you to Mrs Slattery for all her time and effort, not only over the weekend but in the lead up to the carnival. Check out Tally Tiger TV for some footage from the weekend.
