Subject Teacher Conversations - Student Free Day
A reminder next Monday, 24th August, is a student free day for Subject Teacher Conversations.
Thank you to all families who have booked their conversation times for the day. We look forward to engaging in collaborative and constructive conversations with you.
Bus Zones Safety Reminder
Families are reminded a bus zone is in place in Tulloh Street from 8.00-9.00am and McCormick Road from 8.00-9.00am and 3.15-4.00pm on school days.
To allow bus drivers to perform their duties safely and for the safety of students and other road users, please follow all street signage in these zones.
Vehicles other than buses are not permitted to park or stop in bus zones to drop students off during the indicated bus zone times.
Thank you for helping to keep our community safe.
Bullying No Way – National Week of Action - Small Acts, Big Impact
This week is Bullying No Way National Week of Action. The 2026 theme, Small Acts, Big Impact, is a timely reminder that everyday moments of kindness, inclusion and courage can make a genuine difference to another person's day.
This week in TA, students have been taking part in conversations and watching videos that remind us of our commitment to being a safe, respectful and inclusive community.
We encourage families to use this opportunity for a discussion at home about what kindness and "speaking up" look like in your child's world, including online.
Families supporting children and young people who are experiencing bullying in any form do not need to deal with it alone. Please reach out to your child’s Teacher Advisor if you have any concerns. Below are some support organisations that are also available to help and support.
SchoolTV ~ an online platform that provides information about wellbeing for parents and schools.
eSafety Commissioner ~ a comprehensive resource for all issues related to online safety and online bullying. It includes a reporting and complaints service for online bullying and harassment.
Australian Psychological Society ~ has a parenting guide with advice and strategies to help children managing bullying.
Raising Children Network ~ an Australian parenting website with links to a range of national and state resources, services and support organisations for families.
School Hats
A reminder that as per the College SunSmart Policy, school hats are required to be worn when outside at lunchtime and recess and for outdoor class activities, from the beginning of Week 7 in Term 3 - Monday 24th August.
Families are asked to please ensure students have their St Augustine's College hat at school with them from next week.
New hats are available from the College Office for $15 - eftpos or cash (correct amount appreciated where possible).

We are excited to be celebrating the Feast of St Augustine with our whole College Community next Thursday, 27th August. We warmly invite families to join our activities in celebration of our Patron Saint.
College Mass
Our Whole College Mass begins at 11.20am in the Brigidine Centre.
Our 2027 College Captain applicant speeches will also be presented during Mass.
Family Picnic following Mass
Families are invited to bring a picnic lunch for your family to enjoy following Mass. To ensure a smooth transition from Mass to the picnic area, we ask that you please bring your picnic food and picnic blanket/chairs with you to the Mass.
Cupcakes - helpers still required
As is our tradition at St Augustine's, each student will receive a cupcake to celebrate the day.
Thank you to families who have offered to provide cupcakes. We are still in need of around 200 cupcakes - if you can assist in any way with this task, please complete the St Augustine's feast Day - Cupcake Form.
Please note: NO NUTS.
Cupcakes can be delivered in clearly labelled containers to the Brigidine Centre between 8.30 and 9.00am on Thursday 27th August.
The College will prepare cupcakes for those students with special dietary requirements. (Gluten-free, Dairy-free, Vegan, Nut free).
We look forward to celebrating St Augustine's Feast Day with our College community.
Children's Book Week - Symphony of Stories
Next week we will celebrate Australian Children's Book Week with lots of exciting activities planned.
During the week student's can enter one of our competitions with winners announced on Friday:

Crossword competition based on the CBCA shortlisted books
There will also be lunchtime activities in the Library:
Tuesday - Make a decorated egg like in The Emperor's Egg

Dress Up Day and Book Parade Friday 28th August
Students from all year levels are invited to dress up for Book Week next Friday, 28th August.
Years 7-12 students dressed as a book character or in music related outfits will receive a raffle ticket in the draw for a canteen voucher.
Families are invited to our Years F-6 Book Week Parade starting at 9.00am in the Brigidine Centre.
We are excited for a wonderful day of fun, seeing the amazing costumes that our students come up with and welcoming families to our parade.
Tarkarri - College Magazine Design Competition
Calling all St Augustine's Students!
We are looking for amazing designs that could be featured on the cover of our St Augustine's College Magazine, Tarkarri, for 2026.
The criteria (at least one of the following) should:
Include reference to one or more of our House Patrons (St Augustine, St Brigid or Daniel Delany)
Feature an image or reference to our Catholic Tradition and/or stories
Include something special about our St Augustine's College; our learning experiences, pine tree, building features and more!
This competition is open to all St Augustine's students, from Foundation to Year 12.

Beaut Blokes' Breakfast, Father's Day Liturgy and Footy Colours Day
We look forward to celebrating the dads, granddads and special blokes in our student's lives on Thursday 3rd September.
Dress in your footy colours and come along to Beaut Blokes Breakfast from 8.00am, followed by our Father's DayLiturgy in the Churchat 9.00am.

Can you help at our Father's Day Stall?
Our 2026 Father's Day Stall will be held on Friday 4th September.
We are seeking helpers for approximately one hour from 9.00am on the day. If you are able to help, please contact Bec Ciavarella on 0487 777 330.
All volunteers are required to have completed the Volunteer Registration Process and hold a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC). If you will be helping at the stall, we ask that you complete this process as soon as possible.
Existing volunteers are required to update their details and acknowledge all relevant safeguarding policies at the start of each year and inform the school of any changes to your circumstances or updates to your WWCC.
New and existing volunteers can complete the Volunteer Registration Process here.

We are on the countdown to our St Augustine's Got Talent event on 9th September. Our contestants have been busy practising their talents and are excited to showcase them to our community. We have provided a schedule of the line-up for the night.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a common condition that can affect a child's attention, impulse control and activity levels. Children with ADHD may find it harder to stay focused, organised, manage their behaviour or meet expectations at home and school.
ADHD is not simply about effort or discipline. It affects how the brain processes information and manages self-control. With the right understanding, support and strategies, children with ADHD can build confidence, develop important skills and thrive.
This edition of SchoolTV explores ADHD and provides practical ways families can support children with emotional regulation, confidence and everyday challenges.

RCIA Inquiry Evenings
Inquiry evenings for the RCIA program will begin on Monday 5th October at 5.30pm in the Presbytery.
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a process of Christian formation for those who are seeking full communion with the Church. The RCIA is a process, not a program. It is a process which responds to Christ’s invitation to unbaptised (catechumens) and to candidates (those who have received Baptism in other Christian denominations), to come and see how the Catholic community live, pray and worship. The process supports those seeking to deepen their personal relationship with Christ through developing familiarity with the Gospel teachings, deepening the personal experience of prayer and worship and helping discern the movement of the Holy Spirit.
