Principal's Address

From the Principal

As we move into Week 7, it is wonderful to reflect on another busy and productive term at Moonie State School. Students continue to demonstrate a positive attitude towards their learning and are embracing this week's Moonie Mission, "Trying Our Best in Everything We Do." It has been pleasing to see students applying themselves to their learning, showing persistence when tasks are challenging, and taking pride in their achievements.

Assessment tasks are now well underway across the school. Our students have been working diligently to demonstrate their knowledge and skills, and we are very proud of the effort being shown by everyone. Report cards will be finalised during Week 9 and will be sent home to families in Week 10.

As the cooler weather arrives, we ask families to ensure that all clothing brought to school is clearly labelled with your child's name. Mornings are often quite cold, however the days continue to warm up, resulting in jumpers and jackets being removed throughout the day. Clearly labelled items make it much easier for lost clothing to be returned to its owner. A reminder that our winter uniform consists of royal blue jumpers and track pants, and students are expected to wear these items when additional layers are required. We also remind families that wide-brim hats remain a compulsory part of the school uniform and must be worn during all outdoor activities.

We would also like to advise families that Under/Over 8s Day has been postponed until Term 3, with a new date to be confirmed. Further information will be shared with families as soon as arrangements have been finalised.

At the beginning of Week 9, families will receive a letter outlining several exciting works and improvements that will be taking place around our school. We look forward to sharing more information about these developments and what they will mean for our students and community.

A reminder to all students to wear maroon this Friday as we celebrate Queensland Day. It is always wonderful to see our school community come together to celebrate Queensland pride. Students can also look forward to one final free dress day in Week 10 to celebrate the end of a successful term.

Thank you to our students, staff, and families for your ongoing support throughout the term. Together, we continue to create a positive learning environment where every student can thrive.

Kind regards

Mrs Anna Jones
