Academic Competitions

This term we have two academic competitions that are available to our Grade 3-6 students. The Australian Mathematics Competition and the Prime Minister’s Spelling Bee.

The Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC) is an engaging 30-problem competition that demonstrates the importance and relevance of mathematics in students’ everyday lives. Thanks to Mr Blacklaw for organising the competition and good luck to the over 100 students who have entered this year. They will be competing from August 5th – 7th.

The Prime Minister’s Spelling Bee is a national competition completed online where students answer 30 random spelling words. It is a test of accuracy and speed and depending on results, there is the possibility of making it to State or National finals. The Spelling Bee is still open for registration, please see my Compass post if your child is interested. The school round will be held during Week 4 of this term.

I wish our entrants in both competitions all the best when they participate in the coming weeks.
