Education News

JSC Update
JSC have been working hard on reducing rubbish and recycling waste this year.
Recently, we have reduced the amount of recycling by almost half! Which is a great effort.
JSC have been promoting the 3 R’s at assembly, they are REDUCE, REUSE and RECYCLE.
We have also updated the signage on our recycling bins in the classroom and on the big wheelie bins.
We are educating everyone on what can and cannot go into our recycling bins.
Our message is to consider the use of paper and how much can be saved or reused for later use.
Here are some of our displays to help promote these messages.
Cyber safety sessions with Susan McLean later this year
We have been able to secure a date with Susan McLean, Australia’s foremost expert in the area of cyber safety, to run sessions with our 3-6 students and a parent information session regarding current understandings of all things relating to ‘online safety’.
Susan will be running her sessions on Thursday 4th December.
Susan presented last year to our students and families, and we received very positive feedback from families who attended, so we encourage families to add this to your calendar as ‘save the date’ so you can attend. We will confirm start time for the parent session and more details about the session once confirmed with Susan.
