Ask R U OK? Any day because life happens every day.

Thursday 11th September is R U OK? Day, but we know that people around us go through life’s ups and downs every day. It’s natural to feel a little hesitant, but the good news is nine in ten Australians report feeling grateful, supported and cared for when someone genuinely asks them if they're OK - and that’s a good reason to give it a go.

Junior School Council representatives spoke at assembly about how students can check in with each other. They encouraged having conversations with each other and asking “R U OK?”. They also spoke about the signs that might be observed if friends at school are not ok, like crying, not wanting to play or looking sad. 

This R U OK? Day, we encourage others to have a go at asking someone if they are OK. If they say they are not OK, you can follow the conversation steps below to show them they’re supported and help them find strategies to assist. If they are OK, that person will know you’re someone who cares enough to ask.
