Hi parents, guardians, staff, and friends! Welcome to Week 7 of Term 1.
We would like to begin by acknowledging the Traditional Owners of the land, the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Bunurong peoples of the Kulin Nation, and pay our respect to their Elders, past, present, and emerging.
We can’t believe how fast the time is going! This week’s theme is “Space Exploration Week”. It has been a crazy busy and fun week at TheirCare. We started the week with 77 children on Tuesday afternoon. Due to the extreme weather, we spent our afternoons in the cool comfort of the art room enjoying the refreshing airconditioning. The mornings were filled with fun card games like Joe, which two of our talented kids taught us how to play and of course Go Fish. Our mornings are not complete without a friendly competition of downball, where it was fantastic to see all the kids participating and showing off their sportsmanship and communication skills. In the afternoons, we had an exciting drawing competition and got creative making amazing galaxy rings out of paper plates. We had lots of fun creating our own space comic books and the kids absolutely loved it!
The preps have adjusted to the routine quickly and are doing well. We are so happy that they are feeling comfortable and are looking after each other. If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to discuss them with us.
Pupil of the Week
This week’s Pupil of the Week is Ryan Bleazby for always being helpful during pack-up time and being respectful towards everyone at TheirCare. Well done Ryan! You should be very proud of yourself.
TC Tucker
Due to TC Tucker being introduced, we would like to let everyone know that there will be changes to the menu. This Friday for afternoon tea, we had ravioli - all the children loved it! Next Thursday morning we will be having fruit and yoghurt parfait. We would like to encourage all families to submit to us any recipe they would like us to try!
Mad Fun Autmn Holiday Program
As we are halfway through this term, that means that we are getting closer to our MAD FUN Autumn Holiday Program. This upcoming holiday program we have two weeks of fun in which we will be going to see the Minecraft movie, going to Kaboom Sports, and even going to the Werribee Zoo. We also have two incursions - laser tag and making bubbles. Who’s excited? We are!
Announcement
We would like to let all families know that we are currently undertaking a medical audit. If your child / children have medical conditions, we need their updated medication and medical documents. This week we will be handing out a white envelope that has a pre-filled risk minimisation plan in it. If you could please sign it and return it to us. Due to it being a compliance document, unfortunately, we will have to suspend your accounts if we don’t receive these documents.
We would like to let all families know that bookings for the holiday program are now open. Please make sure to book as early as possible. As our numbers for the holiday program are limited. Flyers will be available at TheirCare next week or alternatively you can access them online. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
