International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program Evaluation

Over the coming months, our school will be undertaking the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) Evaluation. This is an important process that occurs every five years for all authorised IB World Schools. It provides an opportunity to reflect on our practices, celebrate what is working well, and identify areas for continued growth.

What is the purpose of the evaluation?

The PYP Evaluation ensures that our school continues to meet the high standards set by the IB and remains committed to delivering a high-quality, internationally minded education. It supports ongoing improvement by encouraging schools to reflect on teaching and learning, student outcomes, and the overall implementation of the PYP framework.

What does the process involve?

The evaluation is a collaborative and reflective process that includes:

  • A comprehensive self-study, where staff review all aspects of our PYP programme against IB standards and practices
  • Gathering feedback from students, teachers, and parents to inform our reflections
  • Compiling evidence that demonstrates how the programme is implemented across the school
  • A visit from an IB evaluation team, who will meet with staff, students, and leadership to learn more about our school

What stage of the process are we at?

We are now entering the final stages of the evaluation process as outlined below.

We look forward to our evaluation visit and report as a chance to reflect, grow, and continue providing rich, meaningful learning experiences for all students.
