Dear Parents,
It is wonderful to see all of our children back at school and settled into their learning for Term 2. The teachers have been working hard preparing wonderful units of work for the children to be engaged in this term. Alongside our learning, we have Dance, Choir, Drumming, and our PSSA Sporting Teams; including Boccia, Touch Football, Cricket, Rugby League, Basketball and Soccer competing. Children can also access Craft and Drawing clubs, circus, mindfulness mornings and meditation. Parents can see what's happening everyday at school on Facebook with the 'What's Happening This Week' that is posted every Sunday. Children also have daily messages that Teachers read during morning circle to remind children of what is occurring each day.
Congratulations to our Girls Touch Football Team, Mrs White and Mrs Guihot on a wonderful day on Wednesday at the Bathurst District Gala Day where our girls played 3 games. Our first game was against O'Connell Public School with our team winning 26 - 0. Our second game against Oberon PS was another great win 17-0 and our third game, which was also the final against Kelso PS, saw us complete a terrific day with a 12-0 win. This means our girls now play in the Western Region quarter final later in the term. Well done to all of our girls on a fantastic day. To finish the day, 7 of our 9 players were selected in the Bathurst District team. Congratulations everyone on a super day.
Tomorrow we will hold our School Athletics Carnival at Morse Park commencing at 9.30am. The program for the day has been posted on Facebook and is also below. We look forward to a spectacular day with lots of support from our parents and friends.
Next Friday 8th May, the P&C will hold our annual Mothers Day BBQ Breakfast commencing at 7.30am in the top quad at school. There is no need to pre order, just turn up and purchase breakfast on the day. The menu is below for your information. As part of our Mother's Day celebrations, we will also have a small ribbon cutting ceremony to formally open our newly painted Canteen area at 8am. Calum Hotham has been working for several weeks bringing our canteen area to life and it looks spectacular. We can't wait to see all our mums next Friday.
Next Friday, 8th May, we will hold our CWA Public Speaking Competition school finals in the McMullen Hall from 9.30-10.50am. We can't wait to hear the fantastic presentations from the class winners.
