Welcome Back to Term 2
We are looking forward to an exciting and busy Term 2, filled with a wide range of opportunities for our students. Highlights will include our annual Book Fair, Mother’s Day celebrations, school photos, and entering artwork into the Narrabri Show School Artwork section. We also look forward to welcoming families to our Kindergarten 2027 Parent Information Session and Catholic Schools Week celebration.
There are many sporting opportunities this term, including ACS Touch Football, the Coal Miner’s Cup, Polding Winter Trials, Rugby 7s, and preparation for the Athletics Carnival with Platform and Co to be held later in the term.
We look forward to a fantastic term of learning and participation!
Thank you NDCAS
A huge thank you to NDCAS for their wonderful donation of fresh hot cross buns at the end of last term as well as their ongoing support of our Breakfast Club! It was a real treat to see so many smiling faces enjoying a festive start to the day.
We also want to extend our gratitude to Mrs Leitch for her work in organising this donation and ensuring everything ran smoothly. Thank you!
Easter Hat Parade & Special Assembly
We celebrated the end of Term 1 with our Easter Hat Parade, Special Assembly and Lunch on the Lawn.
At the assembly, Mrs O’Connor presented awards for the Key Learning Area of Creative Arts as well as the Term 1 Living Well, Learning Well Principal’s Awards. These awards recognise students who consistently demonstrate our three rules for living - I am safe, I am valued, respected and cared for and I am a learner. Congratulations to all recipients.
Students bopped to the beat as they proudly showed off their fantastic Easter-themed hats during the parade. There were so many imaginative and colourful creations on display.
Congratulations also to our lucky chocolate egg prize winners – Ally, Tatum, Florence, Lincoln, Lucy, Ataliah, Bridie, Harper, Madison, Garbriella, Paisley and Judit.
It was lovely to see students, families and friends enjoying a picnic lunch together. We took this opportunity to dress in mufti clothing and donate a gold coin to Project Compassion.

Staff Professional Development
Staff commenced Term 2 last week by participating in two professional development days. The first day was held at St Xavier’s in Gunnedah, where staff joined colleagues from across the Diocese for the first Berry Street Education Model (BSEM) session for the year. On Tuesday, we spent the day at school taking part in our Spirituality Day, engaging in meaningful activities that deepened our faith and sense of community.
ANZAC Day March & Service
Thank you to all the students who represented our school at the ANZAC Day services across the shire. We are always proud of our students, but this year truly showcased the strength of our school community, with such a wonderful level of participation. Thank you!
During the services, we were reminded of the sacrifice of every man, woman and child who lost their lives during those darkened years. We reflected on the meaning of “Lest We Forget,” a phrase inspired by the poem Recessional by Rudyard Kipling, and what it calls us to remember.
We also reflected on the ANZAC spirit, courage, mateship, and sacrifice, and how we can continue to live out these values in our daily lives as a way of honouring those who served.
