To say I’m proud of the cast and crew of Newsies would be an understatement. I am overjoyed at the way in which students from St Pat’s and Loreto came together to create such a fantastic show and I hope the memories they made last a lifetime.
To see our Performing Arts Centre foyer packed after every show with joyful audience members celebrating our cast and crew was just so rewarding. Each and every show was a triumph by the cast and crew and I hope that they are as proud as I am of their efforts.
I know firsthand the effort and energy each member of the team put into fulfilling their role and so my sincere thanks to the following staff and parents: Samantha Bashford-Leger, Karina Dunne, Oscar Wilson, Matthew Pankhurst, Jinah Waters, Bridgette Andrews, Fred Wallace, Sonya Roberts, Marcus Ryan, Lindy Crowe-Procaccino, Jeanean Pritchard, Melanie Lee, Mark O’Callaghan, Narelle Mulrooney, Katie Spurgo, Jason Muller, Aaron and Micah from SLC, Nicki Ballinger, Luke Geddes, Tom Swan, Will Cousens, Brett Earl and his VET hospitality students.
None of this would be possible without the support from the Leadership team and I’d specifically like to thank Steven O’Connor and Andrew Jirik for their belief and steadfast support in what we do.
My final word of thanks, as always, is to the families of the cast and crew. None of it would be possible without you supporting our shows through staying up to date with our communications, organising transport to and from rehearsals and no doubt supporting the wellbeing of these young students throughout their commitment to such a large event. My sincere thanks for allowing us to do what we love doing.
No rest for the wicked! We are onto the planning for the next St Pat’s show which is an opportunity for students in years 7, 8 and 9 to have their time to shine. This production will hit the stage late November.
If you are in Years 7-9 and are interested in auditioning for the next amazing production, please fill in the link to the form to select your audition time and then follow the second link to the audition pack (for resources to practice your audition).
Note, on the form, if you just want to be part of the ensemble (a non-speaking part) - you do not have to audition but you do need to register.
Auditions will take 5 mins only and start after school Week 9 this term!

Congratulations to the following students and staff who went to St Joseph’s Ferntree Gully to compete in the ACC Open Debating and Public Speaking Competitionon Thursday, 8 May and represented St Pat’s really well.
Debating - Coach: Dirk Stickland / Students: Archer Mohr, Patrick Buttler, Nicholas Willis Pitt & Jensen Coelho.
Public Speaking - Coach: Jen Casey / Students: Xxavier Ballinger, Brody Gregg, Daniel O’Brien & Charlie Horne.
The debaters had wins, coming second overall in their division. Our prepared speakers did well but no wins to speak of. A really good day was had by all!
