Round 1 of the BAS Junior Football Season saw the two best sides of 2024, SPC White and SPC Gold, do battle on our own Hill Oval. It was a highly anticipated clash, and it certainly lived up to the billing.
After winning the toss and kicking with a healthy breeze, SPC White needed to get off to a good start. With the skipper Joe Knobel giving his midfielders in Abe Sosinski, Mali Kinniburgh and Mitch Kane first use of the ball, our forwards were enjoying plenty of inside 50s. Zephyr Niehus and Jed Henderson were proving a handful for their opponents up forward and we took a 14 point lead at the 1st break.
Kicking into the wind in the 2nd quarter proved to be a tough ask. While our forwards were starved of opportunities and didn’t manage to kick a goal, our backline was under constant attack. Led by Lenny Manley, Jack Gerdtz and Ned Conroy, the backline did an amazing job to only concede 3 goals and go into half time down by 6 points.
The 3rd quarter required plenty of goals to give us a chance going into the wind in the last quarter. Unfortunately for us we lost our way a little and while we outscored our opponents, we found ourselves only 3 points in front with a lot of work left in front of us if we were to win.
There seemed to be a mindset change at ¾ time. We were to run in waves, use our team mates at every chance and outwork our opponents. The boys looked confident even with the odds stacked against us. The midfield was relentless in their approach and brought a lot of our Year 7 players into the game – Blake Shearson and Braxton Buntsma were especially effective. And when we needed a couple of players to step up, enter Lachie Barr and Mitch Kinniburgh who kicked great team goals ultimately sealing an amazing 9-point victory and gaining some redemption for last year’s defeat.
The midfield battle between the two teams was a real highlight. Names such as Cheeseman, Lis, Watkins, Sosinski, Knobel, Kane and Kinniburgh will be front and centre for years to come at SPC. The game was played in tremendous spirit, and the boys should be very proud of the way they conducted themselves.
Thanks to the student umpires and those boys who missed out on a game, but were there to help with boundary umpiring, goal umpiring and keeping scores. The football program is a great thing to be a part of and there’s a lot more to it than just trying to get a kick. It looks like a great term of football ahead for both teams.

Round 2 saw two undefeated teams, SPC White and SPC Blue, clash on the hallowed SPC Main Oval. As junior players it’s an amazing opportunity for the boys to play on such a great surface only minutes after our ACC 1st XVIII team had played and won on the same ground.
After winning the toss and kicking with a 3-4 goal wind, our boys found themselves in a real contest. Both midfields took their chances to win clearances, and we were happy to get 3 goals on the board. Right on the ¼ time siren SPC Blue kicked one against the flow of play to reduce our lead to only 14 points and a fair bit of work to do going against the wind. To make matters worse our skipper Joe Knobel came from the ground, so we needed to make some changes and adjust.
Charlie Molloy went into the ruck after doing a good job on the wing, Isaac Thomas and Ryder Featherston went into the midfield and a few players playing their first game in Kai Madigan, Xavier Crowe, Archie Henderson and Jack Robinson were ready for the challenge. We managed to outscore our opponents kicking into the wind by three goals thanks to out working our opponents and linking up with our team-mates.
More changes came in the 2nd half with Lenny Manley having the biggest impact taking over the reins in the ruck and he gave our midfielders silver service for the rest of the game. The longer the game went, the better we played - highlighted by end to end goals that many senior teams would be envious of. Henry Williams played a mature game down back and Abe Sosinski was again instrumental in keeping the flow of the game moving in our direction. He was rewarded with three goals in a fine midfield game. Ten goalkickers on the day showed what a great spread of talent we have in the team and hopefully the boys all continue to commit to playing this wonderful brand of footy.
The final score didn’t reflect the talent SPC Blue have and the exciting brand of footy they are playing. They are in for an excellent term of footy under Mr Lovel. Next week we take on Ballarat Grammar Gold on the SPC Hill Oval.

Another beautiful afternoon greeted SPC White as we welcomed Ballarat Grammar Gold to the SPC Hill Oval for Round 3 of BAS Junior Football. It was more of a workman-like performance compared to previous weeks, but the intent and skill level remained as the boys in white kicked out to a 5-goal lead at half time.
Joe Knobel was in outstanding form in the ruck and was well supported by his midfielders in Kai Madigan, Abe Sosinski, Isaac Thomas and Ryder Featherston. Our backline stood up when the pressure mounted. Lenny Manley again proved to be a thorn in the oppositions side, but it was a real defensive group effort from the back 6. Xavier Kersley, Finn McPherson, Brodie Atkinson, Jai Merrett and Charlie Molloy all worked together brilliantly to starve the opposition of any goal scoring opportunities.
It was a case of nearly for our forwards, as many marks were close to being taken and shots on goal just slightly off target. When on song, our forwards are as dangerous as any in the competition.
It was a pleasing 45-point win in the end, but tougher encounters are still to come especially when local Interleague tryouts commence.

Despite a late arrival and a slow start in the first Q quarter SPC white overcame a talented BGS team on the back oval at the Grammar school. The conditions were perfect in the late autumn weather and the ground was in fantastic condition. After kicking the first goal of the game through Jed Henderson, BGS scored three times and looked a good team that were going to present some serious challenges to the undefeated SPC White. SPC managed the last goal of the first quarter and were 4 points down at the first change. From there, fast ball movement, long accurate kicking and some very solid defence including some fantastic tackling ensured that SPC white kicked 6 goals to 3 for the reminder of the match to run out winners. This despite the match being shortened after half time. Thanks to team manager Kobi and congratulations to SPC white on a well-deserved win. I am sure Mr Nash will be very happy.

The St Patrick’s College Junior SPC Gold side played their first game of the season against their archrivals SPC White on the SPC Hill Oval. With a few late outs due to Colac clay target Shooting boys not getting back the SPC Gold were a few undermanned. SPC White winning the toss kicking towards Wilding Wing with a blistering wind behind them had SPC Gold’s defensive on their toes early, with a fair few forward entries the SPC Gold team kept SPC White to only 4 goals with some great defensive efforts from Tom Byvoet and George Britt.
In the middle we were a bit under sized, Jinup Lual competing at every contest running 4 quarters in the ruck gave first use to our midfielders Jake Cheeseman and Brodie Watkins to go to work.
SPC Gold 2nd quarter was a standout kicking 3 goals against SPC White 1 point, with some great forward craft by James Craig taking some spectacular grabs in the air and finishing them off on the scoreboard.
It was a truly well fought out game between the two SPC sides played in great spirit, in the end SPC White ran away with the win after getting a late goal in the 3rd quarter and outscoring SPC Gold in the last quarter kicking against the wind.

On Wednesday night saw the boys play their 3rd game of the Year 7/8 Football Program. It was SPC Gold matched up against Ballarat High School. It was another solid team performance from the boys where we were able to gradually draw away from a very young but very competitive Ballarat High team. It was a tough hitout for the boys where we learned some valuable lessons especially about the fact that we must work both ways and even when we don’t have the football, we can still have an influence on the outcome through our voice and pressure. There were some excellent passages of play by the boys where we were able to keep up the pressure throughout each term thanks to the great ball movement initiated by the engine room of Ollie Wilkie, Harry Lis, Jake Cheeseman, Jinup Lual, Brodie Watkins and Jordan Korosec.
Special mention to Cohan Plummer up forward who showed great evasive skills to snag 3 great goals!!! Congratulations to all the boys who played the game in a great spirit and were very considerate and aware of the fact that they were playing a team that were in some cases 6 months younger than them!! Best Players: Team Effort
Congratulations last night to the Nunan boys on their efforts against a very fast and skilled BHS. We were up against it from the start as we only had 14 players against 18 which was always going to make this game a very challenging one irrespective of the opposition. Our first quarter reflected a team that was missing a few players thus our decision making when we had the ball wasn’t as sharp as normal because of the lack of options forward of the ball. But to the boy’s credit they worked harder and kept the ball in tight over the next couple of quarters, where we were able to turn at three quarter time 1 point in front. But the effort of trying to cover for our lack of players took its toll in the last quarter and BHS to their credit played some clever football and were able to exploit our lack of numbers and use the open spaces to their advantage.
We may not have won the game, but the boys really epitomised what we try to develop here at St Pats and that is no matter what the obstacles we never give up, which is what each of these boys did. It was one of the proudest outings as a coach I have been involved in, and I can’t wait to have the opportunity to work with these great young men next week. Well done boys.

The SPC Green Junior Football side played their first match of the BAS season away at Damascus College on what was a magnificent afternoon for football. Both teams fielded extended squads of 20 players each, ensuring everyone had a good in our first match.
The boys noted the rabbit holes scattered around the oval a reminder of how fortunate our boys are to have the first-class facilities we have at St Patrick’s College.
With a strong breeze blowing to the southern end, Damascus took early advantage of the conditions, kicking six goals in the opening term while SPC Green remained scoreless despite strong defensive efforts. In the second quarter, we had the first forward entry and registered our first score of the game with a behind. However, Damascus’s polished ball movement and physicality saw them extend their lead.
To our boys’ credit, they continued to battle hard after halftime, showing resilience and great team spirit. In the final quarter, Billy Sheehan was rewarded for his persistence up forward, slotting our only goal for the game - a moment that lifted the spirits of the team.
Despite the scoreboard, there were plenty of positives to take away from the match.
Jackson Noonan was solid all across the ground and was able to repel numerous forward entries with composure. Sam McColl worked tirelessly, laying strong tackles and leading by example with his effort. Jake Crack provided plenty of drive and run, showing real grit. Max Walsh showed his skill with his positioning and clean ball use, while Jett Winduss was dependable and disciplined throughout the match. Tex Davey displayed great athleticism and courage in contest after contest. Billy Sheehan’s goal was a deserved reward for his persistence and forward pressure.
This game was a great learning experience for our SPC Green, and we look forward to the season ahead.
Well done, boys - plenty to be proud of from our first match of 2025.

The SPC Green Junior Football side hosted Ballarat High School Blue for Round 2 of the BAS season on our very own Hill Oval. In superb autumn conditions, with a strong easterly breeze cutting across the ground, both sides again agreed to play with extended squads of 20 on the field, ensuring maximum participation and plenty of rotations.
After a slow start in the first quarter where BHS capitalised with the only goal of the term, our boys responded strongly in the second, slotting two goals to keep the contest alive. The arm-wrestle continued through the third quarter with both sides adding goals, and SPC Green pushing hard into the breeze. In the final quarter, the game opened up slightly, and despite adding two more majors, we ultimately fell short in a hard-fought contest.
Matteo Spurgo led the team with great composure and enthusiasm in his first match as captain, setting the tone from the opening bounce. Buster Argall was dangerous up forward and worked tirelessly, finishing with two goals and a number of contested possessions. Kai Landt also impressed, highlighting his athleticism and kicking two crucial goals. Toby Rewuk provided spark across half-forward and earned reward with a clever finish of his own. Max Walsh was again solid and dependable in defence and through the middle, while Ernie Cheeseman gave his all at every contest and played a selfless team game.
While the result didn’t go our way, there were plenty of positives across the ground and signs of real growth from Round 1. The boys should be proud of their effort and commitment, and we look forward to building on this performance as the season progresses.
In a clear indication of all SPC Green’s players’ commitment to the team is that in BOTH Rounds 1 and 2 all players named to play have arrived ready and excited to represent the College! Well done, boys!

SPC Green took on Ballarat High School Green at the BHS Back Oval in ideal football conditions, with a light breeze blowing toward the city end of the ground. The first quarter was a tight and even contest, with both teams kicking 1.1 apiece. Harry Murphy opened our account, showing his usual forward craft and positioning.
The second quarter saw BHS take control of the game, kicking four unanswered goals and opening up a 24-point lead by half-time. Despite the scoreboard, our boys maintained their focus and composure, determined to fight back.
The third quarter was a turning point. Our backline, led by Lachlan Hill, stood firm and prevented any BHS majors, restricting them to just a single behind. Patterson Taylor took his opportunity in front of goal and converted truly, giving us a spark heading into the final term.
In the last quarter, SPC Green surged. Harry Murphy added two more goals to complete a dominant individual performance, while captain Hayden Young kicked a vital goal to bring us level. The team lifted across the ground, applying forward pressure and winning key contests in the middle.
Max Walsh was easily our best player on the day. His marking ability and smart ball use consistently gave our forwards first opportunity and helped shift momentum our way. Lachlan Hill was composed and reliable at fullback, repelling numerous BHS attacks. A special mention goes to Year 7 student Jordy Cummins, who was moved onto the wing in the second half and rose to the occasion with two important score involvements - an impressive effort for a younger player. Hayden Young led the side superbly and set the tone for the comeback.
Harry Murphy was electric up forward, presenting well all game and finishing with three goals, including two in the final term when the game was on the line. Jake Crack was a constant presence through the midfield and forward line, working hard to win contested ball and kicking a crucial goal in the second quarter to keep us in touch.
It was a spirited second-half performance from the team, and while we didn’t quite get the win, the boys showed real resilience and growth to claw their way back and finish with a hard-earned draw.

SPC Green faced off against SPC Gold on the Main Oval at St Patrick’s College in perfect conditions. While the scoreboard told the story of a one-sided contest, the effort and competitiveness from our boys could not be faulted. SPC Green created several opportunities in front of goal but couldn’t capitalise, and SPC Gold’s efficiency going forward proved the difference.
The first quarter was evenly contested, with both sides trading early chances. We moved the ball well and applied good forward pressure, but unfortunately only managed two behinds. From there, SPC Gold began to assert some control on the scoreboard, but our effort remained strong across the ground.
Paddy Sims typified our spirit with a courageous smother attempt, bravely putting his body on the line and unfortunately copping a knock to the head in the process. Although he took no further part in the game, his courage inspired his teammates to lift.
Lachlan Hill was again a standout in defence, reading the ball well and intercepting several SPC Gold forward entries. Vaughan Cutts competed strongly in his position in the centre of the ground. Connor Gerdes was composed across half-back, providing much-needed stability under pressure.
Sam Gleeson battled hard through the midfield, linking up play and working back defensively. Jackson Noonan competed strongly in the ruck all day and gave our midfield a chance to win the ball at ground level. Toby Rewuk provided good run and pressure on the wing, working tirelessly to support both ends of the ground.
Although we didn’t get the result we were after, the boys showed grit and commitment, and can take confidence from their efforts against a quality opponent. Playing on the Main Oval is always a highlight, and the group will look to bounce back strongly next round.

The SPC Blue team began their campaign against their fellow compatriots in SPC Green on the Main Oval. In what was a windy and cloudy afternoon, both teams came ready to hit the ground running to start their seasons. The day started with the announcement of SPC Blue captain in Charlie Salter, starting the day off with a win in the coin toss choosing to kick with the wind in the first quarter. In what was a very contested game, SPC Blue hit the scoreboard first through a Sam Pike goal early on. Goals were back and forth throughout the initial stages, with Goals from Nicholas Ide and Logan Vawdrey seeing SPC Blue into quarter time with a 10-point lead. Heading into the wind for the 2nd quarter, it was here where SPC Blue took control. Big-bodied mid Lachlan Cameron provided some class through the midfield, with a shift to Jacob Young in the ruck providing solid contests all over the ground. Jackson Turner, Jack Stringer and Noah Connell all worked relentlessly along the wings providing options all day, especially in transition. SPC Blue went into the main break with a commanding 44-point lead. The second half was much more contested with SPC Green putting up a strong fight especially in the last quarter. This could not overshadow the team-win put together by SPC Blue, closing out the game with a 33-point victory. Charlie Salter led from the front all day, with continued and relentlessly work from Jackson Kane down back, Mitch Korosec’s tireless work rate in the middle and flashes of brilliance from our forwards; no one could be faulted for their efforts. On Tuesday the 13th of May, the SPC Blue intermediate squad took on a formidable Ballarat Grammar side over on their home deck. Rocking up slightly late, the boys only got a very short time for the warmup prior to the game. Jackson Kane completed the coin toss as captain, seeing the team kicking towards the Wendouree end. The first quarter was fairly one-sided, with Ballarat Grammar dominating for most of the quarter. A late piece of magic from Gregory Bush in his SPC Blue debut saw SPC Blue’s first goal on the board, with Ballarat Grammar taking a 30-point lead heading into quarter time. A heavy discussion at quarter time saw the boys head into the second quarter their heads high ready for the contest ahead. The second quarter saw Jackson Kane head into the ruck to attempt to combat a much bigger opposition. Holding the opposition scoreless in the second quarter, the SPC Blue boys added on 2 more goals through Nick Ide and Arch Bolt, with some commendable defensive efforts from the likes of Nick Turner, Jackson Davies, Nathan Sandles and Jasper Delaney keeping the Blue team in the contest. The second half followed much of the values of the second quarter, with a very contested 3rd quarter seeing both teams score just the 1 goal for the term. At 3 Quarter Time the squad knew it was time to go for broke, facing a 15-point deficit the boys were prepared for a challenge. The midfield of Jackson Kane, Nick Ide, Griffin Edwards and Damon Chery worked tirelessly in the final quarter to push the margin as close as they did. The boys started with a quick goal from Damon Cherry, before a quick reply from Ballarat Grammar. With roughly 5 minutes remaining, it was time to take some risks if the boys were any chance of victory. The boys took on the game at every opportunity working the ball beautifully down the ground, with Lucas Polanske popping up for 2 quick goals inside 2 minutes closing the deficit to 2 points. With very under a minute remaining the pushed to get it forward, but the siren beat them to the punch, with a final scoreline of 50-52 with Ballarat Grammar taking the win. The boys must be commended for how they conducted themselves and proud of how close they brought the game to. The SPC Blue team travelled for a feature game on Ballarat High School’s Main Oval, in what turned out to be a fairly one-sided affair. With Ballarat High’s team only fielding 16 players, we collectively decided to drop out the 2 wing positions which resulted in a very open, free-flowing style of play all day. The SPC Blue boys got on the board early with a goal on the goal line by Arch Bolt kickstarting our day, with the squad capitalising on almost every opportunity that presented in front of them. On Tuesday evening, The SPC Blue squad took on the formidable Damascus College side in a rather rainy contest. The boys arrived just in time with relatively little time to warmup, which saw Damascus get the first jump with 2 quick goals. The SPC Blue boys were level-headed however, chipping away all game. Some expert forward craft from Nicholas Ide and some very good hands in the air on a wet night from Lucas Polanske saw the squad hold a 8-point lead at half-time. The inclusions of Jasper Bowler, Lachlan Cowell, Nash Armstrong, Miller Vaughan and Jasper Delaney had their work cut-out against a well-oiled Damascus midfield. They held their heads high however, with a solid third quarter seeing the boys taking a 14-point lead into the final change. With the game still up for grabs the Damascus side came out strong in the last quarter bringing the margin back to 1 point with only a few minutes left in the game. Some late game heroics by the likes of Sam Pike saw the boys quell their attack. Then with a mere minute left the boys did not relent, causing a quick turnover leader to the sealer kicked by Miller Vaughan from 40 out to win it for the blue team by 9 points. The St Patrick’s College Gold Intermediate Football side continued their BAS Football Season in windy but sunny conditions on the Hill Oval, against archrivals SPC Blue. After SPC Blue’s impressive win last week, we knew that this game would be a fierce and fantastic contest.
After winning the toss, we got the luxury of kicking with the howling wind in what proved to be an 8 goal to 0 first quarter for SPC Gold. It was evident that the boys were up and about and had established their brand of footy early into the game. To SPC Blue’s credit, the remaining three quarters were hard fought and provided a great contest where SPC Gold only scored a further two goals for the remainder of the match. Whilst SPC Blue did have some great passages of play and for a moment there, looked like they may have been on for a huge comeback, it was excellent to see our boys keep their composure and work with one another to see out the game.
It is worth noting a couple of outstanding performances, firstly to Jordan Davidson who played a brilliant game across half back and the midfield. Jordan’s composure under pressure was first class and he ultimately provided a lot of run and carry for our forward line players. He even went forwards and snagged a goal himself! Archie Svanosio also proved to be a great target up forward and managed to slot 3 goals himself.

The St Patrick’s College Gold Intermediate Football side begun their BAS Football Season in emphatic fashion, playing an away match at Damascus College. After some light rain throughout the day, the football gods decided to bring some sunlight along to the match in what was a nice afternoon for football. Although this was our first game and for many of the boys, their first time playing with one another, this did not impact the SPC Gold brand of football which was underpinned by hard work, grit and determination.
Leading into the game, we knew that Damascus would be a challenging opponent after their performances last season – this was evident early on when they kicked the first goal of the match, roughly 30 seconds into the quarter. Through some composure and accountability this allowed us to kick 4 goals in a row in the opening quarter, ultimately setting us up for a big victory.
The match was ultimately played in great spirit, and it was a credit to the boys for their relentless teamwork throughout the 4 quarters. Whilst there were some patches during the match where Damascus looked like they may be on for a comeback, it was outstanding to see the boys fight back hard and retake the momentum, ultimately resulting in a dominant last quarter to seal the win. A couple of special mentions, firstly to Josh Elliott who had a dominating game in the midfield. Josh proved to be a great inside and outside player who gave our forwards plenty of opportunities to take some shots at goal. It is also worth noting the efforts of Archie Wilkie who set us up beautifully from the backline. Archie’s attack on the footy and his contested efforts in pack situations was brilliant.
Great job boys. It was fantastic to see you take on some feedback throughout the game and implement it into our brand of footy.

It was another beautiful day for footy on the Hill Oval, where the St. Patrick’s College Gold Intermediate Football side continued their BAS Football Season against Ballarat Clarendon College. Whilst the boys had won two on the trot, we knew we couldn’t become complacent as BCC did hold a lot of talent in their side.
It was great to see Archie Svanosio continue his winning ways by winning the toss and electing to kick towards the Shed Oval. The first quarter proved to be a tight tussle with both BCC getting the upper hand and taking the first few shots at goals. Luckily they only registered points, and it allowed our boys to kick 3 goals 2, to 3 behinds, going into quarter time with a 17-point lead. After a huge rev up speech from Coach Rhys Grace at quarter time, this allowed for our intensity to increase and to play a great second quarter of footy, where we controlled much of the play. Ultimately, the boys ran away with a 25-point victory which was by far, the toughest game of the season so far.
Credit to Jayden Smyth who played an outstanding game across the backline. Jayden’s contested marking and his ability to hit a target was first class. Furthermore, Zane Stott was also very impressive on the wing. He found great space and held his position well, ultimately providing a lot of run and carry for the team.
Another great win boys! 3 and 0 has a nice sound to it.

In glorious conditions at Ballarat High School, SPC Gold took to the field for a highly anticipated clash against fellow undefeated side Ballarat Grammar. With both teams boasting perfect records leading into the match, the stage was set for a fierce and high-quality contest. The sunny skies added to the atmosphere as the two teams prepared for what would become a memorable encounter.
Archie Svanosio once again called correctly at the coin toss, giving SPC Gold the early advantage. The boys started brightly, dominating possession and territory throughout the opening term. Despite controlling much of the play, they were only able to edge ahead by two points, taking a 9 to 7 lead into the first break. The second quarter saw a spirited response from SPC Gold, who found their rhythm in front of goal, kicking 3 goals 3 to bring the scores level at halftime. The second half proved to be a fierce battle, with both sides lifting their intensity in what became a highly physical and evenly contested game. With the game hanging in the balance at the final break, Coach Rhys Grace delivered a fiery and passionate address to the group. Urging the boys to dig deep, lift their work rate, and “man up,” his message was clear and full of belief. The team responded with intensity in the final term, pushing hard to the final siren in a desperate attempt to reclaim the lead. As the final minutes ticked down, SPC Gold had two opportunities to steal the win but were unable to convert. In the end, Ballarat Grammar held on to secure a narrow 4-point victory in what was a thrilling contest from start to finish.
Among the standout performers for SPC Gold was Paddy Stute, who was outstanding in the ruck all day. He consistently gave his midfielders first use, took several strong contested marks, and used the ball with poise and precision. His defensive pressure around the ground also stood out in a tightly fought game. Another key contributor was Kane McInerney, who marshalled the backline with composure. His ability to read the play and take intercept marks was crucial in repelling repeated Ballarat Grammar attacks, and his decision-making under pressure was a highlight throughout the match.
Bad luck on such a hard-fought game boys. The spirit you played the match in was outstanding and you should be proud of your efforts!

After weeks of picture-perfect weather, the footy gods had other ideas for Round 5 of the BAS Intermediate Football Competition. In horrendous conditions, SPC Gold travelled to Ballarat Grammar for what shaped as a redemption clash following last week’s tough loss to Ballarat Grammar’s main side.
Leading into the match, the boys were challenged to be more accountable and to use the full width of the ground. And while the scoreboard didn’t quite reflect our early dominance, we controlled much of the first quarter and edged ahead, 9 to 6. The second quarter saw a clear shift in momentum. Playing into the wind, our boys lifted, dominating general play and managing to slot a couple of critical goals that gave us a real edge going into the break. From that point on, the game was played entirely on our terms. Our pressure, spread, and structure wore Ballarat Grammar Blue down, allowing us to take full control in the second half, piling on 6 unanswered goals.
A standout performance came from Mitch Ward, who came down from the 2nd XVIII SPC White side and put on a clinic in the midfield. His contested marking, composure, and ability to switch the play were crucial to our second-half surge. A special mention also goes to Luke Weidemann, who booted his first ever goal for SPC Gold! After a strong mark and a composed set shot, he calmly slotted it through – and didn’t the boys get around him!
It was a gutsy, team-first performance in tough conditions and a great response after last week's disappointment.

SPC Green rolled into Grammar school on a windy Tuesday night beaming ready to go. The boys were a bit intimidated by the size of the grammar players but as the game got under way, our boys showed no fear and displayed great pressure to start. Kicking with the wind in the first quarter, we had some great link up play through the middle of the ground courtesy of Vincent Foley whose class led us to dominate the inside 50 count. Our first goal came from Johnny Reus who got on the end of one to kick a classy goal. Another play transitioning from D50 starting with Jack Gent and going through the corridor to Oli Power, opened to Angus McNamara for another goal. The ball lived in our 50 but we couldn’t put it on the scoreboard, only going into the second term 2 goals in front.
The second term was a challenge for our boys and was polar opposite to the first quarter. The ball lived in Grammar’s front half, and we were lucky they couldn’t convert their chances. Our boys played the conditions well, slowing down ball movement and not blowing away, and although we had a couple of chances to score, we couldn’t register a goal this term. Mac Lewis took it upon himself in the middle and around the ground stoppages, with his explosion and power very evident from the sidelines.
The boys started the third quarter full of energy kicking with the wind, our aim was to ensure the ball lived inside our half of the ground. We couldn’t have asked for a better start to the quarter with Angus McNamara snapping his second, and Ned Porter getting out the back and slotting a nice goal from 30m out. Our talls in the game were dominant with Archie Gannon providing a great contest all around the ground for us. Unfortunately, however, halfway into the quarter, Roy Martin showed plenty of courage and collided with a Grammar player that delayed the rest of the quarter. Roy’s determination to hunt the footy was to be applauded, and we wish Roy all the best as he recovers from a nasty concussion. We didn’t get more time unfortunately to kick with the wind, and our boys went into the last change clinging to a one goal lead.
In the last Term, Grammar kicked the only 3 goals to ensure they ran away with the victory. Our boys couldn’t transition the ball as well as did against the wind in the second term, but their desire and pressure never faulted. Our defence lead by Keaden Stewart and Ethan McColl competed hard all day, but a similar story to last week in that one poor quarter cost us our first win. We will bounce back with another away trip to BHS next Tuesday night.

Beautiful conditions greeted us as we pulled up to Ballarat High School for our Round 3 clash. Chasing our first win, our boys had an endless amount of energy prior to the game, and it translated into our first quarter. Our back line again led by Kaelen Stewart and Liam Banks kept BHS to only one goal in the first quarter and allowed us to transition the ball downfield. Will Richardson and Charlie Farrugia were dangerous as small forwards, however their 2 snaps only resulted in points. Simon Antonello’s clever crumbing got us started with a nice goal off the back of some inside 50 dominance. Archie Gannon (or Brendan Fevola as he described himself), was a great presence for us going forward and got his hands to everything, kicking a goal on the siren to give us a one goal lead going into the first change.
The second term wasn’t a favourable one for SPC Green, BHS dominated kicking 3 goals to none and those 3 being a snap from the boundary, impossible set shot from the pocket and one straight from the centre bounce. Fair to say luck wasn’t on our side for our boys this quarter. We got our hands on the ball enough, our skills just let us down a little bit and was the difference in the game heading into half time.
The boys got our mojo back in the 3rd quarter, playing with some dare and speed, leading to numerous chances and shots on goals but we just couldn’t convert. Koby Madigan and Charlie Farrugia were dangerous up forward off the back of some great midfield contest work from Max Aylward and Ned Porter in the ruck. Ned also looked dangerous, he certainly knows where the goals are, kicking a nice set shot and snapping a point out of nowhere from a stoppage. Few AFL teams can learn a thing or two up forward from Ned.
Our 3-quarter time huddle was a confident one as we know we could kick the first in the last and bring it back to an even game. The game lived in our front half but a similar story of the first 3 quarters, in that our disposal efficiency let us down. Simon Antonello put the superman cape on tried to will us over the line, but a few posters and turnovers summed up our day in the end. Archie Gannon was thrown in the middle and played a great last quarter and was everywhere trying to bring our boys back in it. Ryder Jaensch on a wing was classy and provided plenty of run for us as the night went on. However, the final siren blew, and our boys just fell short. The boys got better as the game went on, and one more term and I reckon we would have had them, but you can’t fault their desire to will themselves back after a sluggish second term. Back at home next week against Damascus, and the boys are determined as ever to get that first dub.

Cold, wet, and gloomy conditions greeted SPC Green on the Main oval as we took on Ballarat Clarendon College in search of our first win. The boys were rapt that we got to play on Main oval (minus Archie Gannon, but little did he know the game he would have on there). We welcomed back our inspirational leader Angus McNamara, which could only mean a good night was upon us.
Our boys got off to the perfect start through some midfield dominance led by Mac Lewis, Trent Younger and our ruckman Kaelen Stewart. First quarter goals to Archie Gannon (2) and Kaelan Stewart ensured we took a nice lead into the first break. This positive first term set the tone for the day, and we could tell our boys were on. We were first to the footy, and played with a surge mentality, which was very important in the wet.
Second term was when we really turned it on, our boys played the conditions like it was a dry day, hitting short kicks, being clean with their disposal and making the most of the big ground. Our wingmen, Lachie Chiswell and Benji Conroy Phillips held space really well and were a great link to our forwards. We had 4 goal scorers in the second term, with 2 more to Archie ‘Brendan Fevola’ Gannon, Simon Antonello (not bad for a kid with a busted ankle), Caden Quick and Lachie Van de Horst all kicked goals on the run, and these popular boys created such a buzz coming into the half time huddle, making us coaches think where has this been for 4 weeks. The one time our defence was challenged in that quarter, Liam Banks won an important free and Ethan McColl and Troy Lee led us out of D50 with ease.
Third term was a quiet time for the game in general, Archie Gannon kicked another (no surprise), however, Angus McNamara and Caden Quick wish they had their time again, fluffing a goal 5 meters out straight in front. Maxy Aylward was an absolute rock at centre half back, ensuring nothing got past, running through packs and kickstarting offensive chains for us. Kaelan's effort in the ruck was outstanding and got better as the game went on (sorry we have been having you at full back mate), but Kaelan was a great option for us to kick too and even played as that 4th mid.
The final term came, and BCC kicked a three consolation goals in the first few minutes, but this was probably a result of our boys pushing up the ground hoping to get in on the action and kick one themselves, which after 4 straight losses, can we really blame them? Troy Lee had a super play on the half back flank and although came off second best, his effort out there all day was superb. The game fizzled out and as darkness set in on the main oval, SPC Green celebrated as we chalked up our first win and the boys absolutely loved it. A day where all 18 players on field could have been in the best, special plaudits goes to Archie Gannon, who although plays CHB for his local club ended the day with 5 goals, great game Arch!

The BAS 2nds footy season exploded into action this week, with the Year 10 SPC White team facing off against long-time rivals Ballarat Grammar in a much-anticipated opening round clash. On a picture-perfect day with a deceptively strong breeze sweeping across the oval, the stage was set for a fierce contest—and SPC White delivered in spades.
SPC White found themselves kicking into the wind, making for challenging ball movement early. Despite this, the boys wasted no time in asserting their game plan—short leads, smart decisions, and relentless energy. Lenny Ireland opened the account with a clean finish, and fierce tackling from smaller players like Nash Cleary and Mitch Korosec set the tone. However, a lapse in intensity late in the quarter allowed Grammar to sneak in a goal, tying things up at the first break.
With conditions now in their favour, SPC White began to take control. Ireland continued to be influential, this time turning playmaker as he fed teammates in better positions. The midfield trio of Mitch Ward, Ky Geljon, and Sonni Te Moananui dominated the stoppages, while Hudson Hobbs gave his mids first use with clever ruck work. Despite controlling the territory, wayward kicking (4.8 for the quarter) kept Grammar in it. Goals came through Xavier Johnston, Nash Armstrong, Cooper Kennedy, and James Sheehan, while the defensive unit held firm to keep Grammar goalless.
Coming out after halftime, SPC White looked momentarily vulnerable as Grammar snatched an early goal. But the response was swift. The boys tightened up their structures and began working the ball with fluid link-up play. Nash Armstrong and Cooper Kennedy created chances despite the wind’s interference, and goals to Mitch Korosec and Kyan Vaughan helped stretch the margin. While the scoreboard didn’t reflect full dominance, the intent and execution were clear.
The fourth quarter was nothing short of a statement. With the wind and momentum in full swing, SPC White went into overdrive. Their ball movement became electric, their pressure relentless, and their finishing ruthless. Eight final-term goals flowed from Lachlan Cameron, Mitch Ward, Tyler Gillespie, Xavier Johnston, and Cooper Kennedy, sealing an emphatic 80+ point victory.
SPC White couldn’t have asked for a better start to the season. Their performance was built on teamwork, quick ball movement, and fierce communication—ticking every box their coaches set pre-game. As they gear up for next week’s mouthwatering clash against SPC Blue in the “Battle of the Paddy Boys,” confidence and belief are sky-high.

Our first away hit-out for the season took us across the road to Ballarat Clarendon on a crisp autumn afternoon – perfect conditions for a strong brand of footy, even if the wind had a bit of bite. With a few fresh faces in the line-up, Mitch Korosec proudly led the team out as captain, and the boys wasted no time setting the tone.
From the first bounce, our tackle pressure was intense, forcing Clarendon into uncharacteristic errors and giving us control of the contest. The opening goal was a beauty – a coast-to-coast piece of play that showcased the team’s composure and willingness to lower the eyes. It started with Josh Elliott linking up with Angus McNamara through the corridor, who hit up Mitch Korosec wide on the flank. Mitch delivered a pinpoint kick into the hot spot where Archie Purtle read the drop perfectly and snapped truly – a textbook team goal. Down back, the likes of Jett Gurnett, Jackson Delaney and Josh Elliott were rock solid. Their discipline and ability to beat their direct opponents kept Clarendon’s forwards quiet and gave us the platform to build from.
The second term saw a bit of an arm wrestle early, with both sides going hard at the contest. At times, our spread was lacking, but a moment of brilliance from Jasper Delaney – throwing himself across the goal line to save a certain six-pointer – lifted the group. The midfield started to dominate from there, and the floodgates opened. Seven unanswered goals later, we had taken full control heading into the half.
The third quarter was all about continued pressure and smart footy. Nash Cleary showed great awareness, setting up a goal with a selfless play from deep in defence. Mitch Korosec was relentless, putting his body on the line at every opportunity, while Cooper Kennedy brought ferocity and clean hands in key link-up moments. Will Chamings contested everything on the flank, consistently bringing the ball to ground to create opportunities. We controlled the quarter but couldn’t fully convert, managing just one goal – though a 70-point buffer spoke volumes of the team’s dominance.
In the final quarter, the boys didn’t let up. Ky Geljon worked into dangerous spots and finished with a couple of well-earned goals. Archie Purtle continued to put his body on the line, copping a heavy corky in the process. Hudson Hobbs injected some serious pace and precision with his ball use, and the Vaughan twins – Miller and Kyan – linked up cleverly with Riley Cook to create sweeping switches of play. Despite conceding a couple of late goals after losing some structure, a five-goal term sealed a commanding 102–20 win.
A fantastic team performance with contributions across every line. The boys now shift focus to Round 4 against Phoenix – a side we don’t know much about, but one we’re fired up to face.

SPC 2nd XVIII had a terrific victory against BCC. This game was a real team effort from a very committed group of lads. The game didn’t start well for the Paddy Boys with BCC kicking a goal from their first foray forward. However, this would be the last major that they would score with the strong SPC team feeding off the strong contest work of Brodie Gunsser, Ned Charleson and Noah Svanosio. In perfect conditions on the Main Oval, Damascus College secured a well-deserved victory over St Patrick’s College Blue on Tuesday, May 20. The game was played in a competitive yet respectful spirit, showcasing the strong sportsmanship shared between both schools.
Noah McDonald delivered an outstanding performance in the midfield. His ability to win contested possessions and distribute the ball effectively by both hand and foot gave his teammates a clear advantage throughout the match. Similarly, Fletcher Toose continued to impress. His speed and dual-sided ball use suggest a promising future as he progresses into senior football in the coming years.
Riley Seden-Kurnoth exemplified selfless, team-oriented football. As he continues to develop, there is great optimism about his potential impact at the 1st XVIII level. His one-handed mark in the third quarter was a standout moment and a highlight of the match.
Lachlan Rea also impressed, demonstrating the skills and composure required to compete at a higher level. His fearless approach and intelligent ball use were instrumental in bringing his teammates into the game.
Billy Broidy was tireless in the ruck. Despite conceding height to his direct opponent, his athleticism and ability to outjump his rival gave the midfield unit critical first use of the ball.
Finn Cooney provided great run and drive in his role as an attacking wingman. His pace through the midfield was a significant asset. Zane Pring also made key contributions, showing great courage—most notably in the final quarter when he won a contested ball against three opponents through sheer determination.
It was particularly pleasing to see strong student engagement, with eight players rotating off the bench. While this reduced individual game time, it allowed more boys the opportunity to represent their school and enjoy the game with their peers.
The 2nd XVIII program emphasises respect and enjoyment, and the 26 players who took the field for St Patrick’s College proudly embodied these values throughout the match.

In blustery and testing conditions on Wednesday, May 7, Ballarat High School hosted St Patrick’s College in another tightly contested game of BAS First XVIII Football. The swirling wind made clean ball use and movement difficult from the get-go, contributing to a fast-paced but scrappy encounter. Despite the tricky conditions, both sides showed plenty of grit and skill in a game that remained on a knife’s edge until the final siren.
St Pat’s adapted well early, with Jack Cleary looking dangerous up forward, finishing with three goals. Ethan Worthy was outstanding, notching two majors and dominating through the midfield with his physical presence and ball-winning ability. Cooper Besler was composed across half-back, using the ball cleanly to launch attacks, while Archie Todd and Zavier Thomas delivered solid performances around the ground. Debutant defender Archie McLeod impressed with his composure under pressure and tackling along with his fellow SPC boarder Albie Cheeseman who showed great versatility, contributing effectively in both the backline and midfield.
Ballarat High mounted a strong challenge in the third quarter, using the wind to their advantage entering the final quarter with score level. In true St Pats style, we dug deep in the final term to halt their momentum and stop many forward surges and entries with our pressure and never-say-die attitude. The larger ground seemed to suit our running style more than the tighter confines of Clarendon, allowing us to spread the play and maintain better structure.
In the end, SPC held on for a hard-earned six-point victory. It was a true team effort across the board and a well-deserved result as we claimed our first win of the 2025 BAS campaign.

St Patrick’s College Ballarat made a powerful statement in their first home game of the season, showcasing dominance across the ground in their clash against Mercy College Camperdown.
From the first bounce, St Pat’s imposed themselves physically and, on the scoreboard, winning clearances and controlling possession through the midfield. Their forwards capitalised on the supply, with multiple players hitting the scoreboard early. The opening quarter set the tone, with St Pat’s piling on three goals to take a strong lead to the quarter time break.
The second term followed a similar script, with clean ball movement and relentless pressure keeping Mercy College on the back foot. Despite a few promising passages from Mercy, the St Pat’s backline stood tall, repelling attacks and launching off half back to earn repeat inside 50s.
Unfortunately, the game was called off midway through the third quarter after a serious knee injury to an Ollie Daykin . With player safety the top priority, both teams and officials made the decision to abandon the match. Our thoughts are with Ollie with a speedy recovery, and based on his resilient nature, he will be fantastic with his rehabilitation.
While the game ended prematurely, St Pat’s will take plenty of confidence from their strong performance, particularly their early dominance and cohesion as a team. Mercy College, although unable to get into the match, showed commendable sportsmanship in difficult circumstances.
We now look to the next game against Monivae College, taking a lot of confidence from a strong showing.

St Patrick’s College showcased grit, teamwork, and resilience in a nail-biting contest against Ballarat Grammar, coming away with a gutsy 1-point victory in front of a spirited home crowd.
From the opening bounce, St Pat’s set the tone with relentless pressure around the contest and efficient ball movement around the ground. Our ability to win ground-level contests was outstanding, allowing SPC to take control early and convert our opportunities on the scoreboard. Juraiya Calma Long and Charlie Barrance led the charge up forward, both hitting the scoreboard and setting up crucial goals, while Zac Evans impressed with his aerial efforts, proving to be a key target throughout the match.
The midfield brigade, led by Oscar Farrington who dominated the ruck, provided consistent drive. Luke Atkinson, Ned Charleson, Brody Gunsser, and Max Sudholz worked cohesively in tight, feeding the ball out and helping launch attacking plays that gave St Pat’s the early ascendency.
Despite St Pat’s strong start, Ballarat Grammar rallied in the second quarter. Making the most of the breeze, they began to find cleaner entries inside 50 and pegged back the margin with some classy finishes of their own. St Pat’s still managed to slot a couple of goals into the wind, but Grammar had closed the gap and gained momentum heading into the second half.
The third term saw Grammar continue to press. Their forward pressure intensified and they looked increasingly dangerous in transition. With a crafty roving goal late in the term from Max Bunworth and desperate resistance from the St Pat’s backline, Grammar had still managed to edge closer and trailed by just two goals at the final change.
In the final quarter, the game turned into a test of determination for SPC. St Pat’s stood tall under immense pressure, with defenders Toby Dixon, Harry Hoffman, Hunter Vansomeren, Hamish Fanning, Albie Cheeseman and Lachy McPhan digging deep to repel wave after wave of Grammar attacks. With the game on the line in the dying minutes, Charlie Barrance stepped up once again, this time with a match-saving pack mark deep in defence to deny Grammar a late winner.
St Pat’s showed incredible determination to create repeated stoppages and grind the clock down. When the final siren sounded, the scoreboard read in favour of St Pat’s, victorious by one point.
It was a true team performance, with every player putting their body on the line and playing for the jumper. A thrilling game and a courageous win that the boys, and the College, can be proud of.

St Patrick’s College 1stXVIII played their second game of the season against a very strong St Bede’s College Mentone team on Wednesday, 7 May. The game was played in difficult slippery and windy conditions on the beautiful St Patrick’s College Main Oval. Conditions made scoring difficult and for three-and-a-half quarters neither team had more than a 10-point lead. The Paddy boys were relentless with their effort and commitment to the contest and eventually overcame St Bede’s to win by 16 points.
First quarter
Fraser Molan was given the Captaincy for the game and lost the toss which meant we were kicking into a 2-3 goal breeze. St Bede’s won the first centre bounce clearance and kicked a goal from the forward 50 entry in what was the worst way possible to kick off the main part of our season. To our credit the Paddy boys immediately gained ascendency around the stoppages and kept peppering the 50 to keep the ball in our forward half. Unfortunately, we missed a number of opportunities to kick goals as we kicked three behinds and two kicks out of bounds on the full. Towards the end of the quarter, St Bede’s was able to take the ball forward to score the second goal of the game. This frustrated the coaching group as we had completely controlled the territory game without being able to capitalise with a major. Right on the siren impressive debutant Levi Munyard kicked the ball deep inside 50, where clever small forward Kai Watkins got out the back to finish truly.
Second quarter
The second quarter started positively with multiple forward 50 re-entries finally ending with a contested mark and goal by Cooper Glenwright who was impressive in his first school game of the year. Later in the quarter, Cooper would impact again after marking on the lead after a beautiful pass from Armi Wakefield. He would finish beautifully from a tight angle. The remainder of the quarter was a slog, with SPC getting punished for a scuffle which resulted in a 50m penalty and goal to St Bede’s. St Pat’s would go to the half time break with a four-point lead.
Third quarter
This quarter saw us come out and try and defend our lead against the stiff breeze. Conditions dried out a little and the opening minutes saw us control the stoppages and go forward on numerous occasions without hitting the scoreboard. Another stoppage win at half back set off a chain of six handballs which looked amazing. Impressive Year 11 student Archie Elliott was on the end of the chain and his kick inside 50 found Cooper Glenwright who quickly identified another impressive Year 11 student Angus Morgan who kicked a goal from the goal line. SPC were able to milk the clock a little and maintain possession while trying to mitigate the influence of the breeze. We gave up one goal towards the end of the quarter to go to the three-quarter time break with a four-point lead.
Final quarter
We started poorly and lost the first centre bounce which resulted in a goal to St Bede’s. But this would be the last time that they would lead in this game with the Paddy boys finishing all over St Bede’s. Goal number one came from a brilliant piece of play from Archie Elliot who slotted one through under extreme pressure. Goal number two came from Kai Watkins who outworked his opponent to run onto a deep kick inside 50. Goal number three came from impressive debutant Levi Munyard and goal number four – in the last minute of the game – came from Harvey Lewis who worked tirelessly for the entire game as a small forward and snapped truly. This gives us a 2-0 start to the season with a huge game against the powerful Parade College set for next Wednesday on the hallowed turf at SPC.

Beautiful autumn conditions greeted the always strong Parade team for their game against us on Main Oval on Wednesday afternoon. Taj Bowman and Tessie Liem won the toss and chose the eastern end that was being aided by a one goal breeze.
Paddy’s won the first centre bounce and went forward to kick a point in what was an ominous sign for our accuracy in front of goal in the first quarter. Our pressure and contest dominance lead to a 14-4 Inside 50 differential, we just couldn’t kick majors. Our 14 Inside 50s produced just four behinds. Harvey Lewis was prolific in the first quarter; he was in everything with his effort around the footy a standout. Taj Bowman and Tessie Liem were setting us up from defence and Cooper Glenwright and Tashaun Wright were looking dangerous up forward. We went to the break with a two-point lead.
The second quarter didn’t start well as Parade stepped up their pressure and effort after getting beaten around the ball in Q1. They kicked a goal very early on and started to dominate in general play. Their team defence was outstanding and every time we tried to move the ball with some speed; they were able to hold us up and force a turnover. About halfway through the quarter we started to get on top again around the stoppages, but again, every time that we went forward, we just couldn’t kick a major. Conversely, every time that Parade went forward, they seemed to hit the scoreboard. We finished the quarter with 1 goal four behinds to three goals two behinds, leaving us with an eight-point deficit at the main break.
The third quarter was the worst quarter that we have played since entering the strong ACC competition. We were beaten in every facet of the game – 31-71 Disposals, 4-24 marks, 0-15 Inside 50s, 111-389 ranking points – and the list goes on. We couldn’t win the ball in the contest, and we didn’t pressure them when they won it. The end result was 0.0.0 - 6.4.40. Captains Taj Bowman and Tessie Liem were trying to lift the side, but we just couldn’t win or maintain possession of the ball. We didn’t have a winner anywhere on the ground. We were down by a big margin at three-quarter time.
We moved a lot of players around in the last quarter and we just needed a far greater effort from everyone. We kicked the first two goals through Tashaun Wright and Jackson McInerney, and we started to get some respectability back. Parade kicked the next two and to put an exclamation mark on the game. Humbled, we will lick our wounds and look to bounce back in round three against St Bernards.

Another beautiful day, this time in Melbourne’s north greeted the St Patricks 1st XVIII at St Bernards College. Unfortunately, the football wasn’t quite the same! We were beaten by a more committed and organised St Bernard's outfit.
The game started well for the Paddy’s with a number of Inside 50’s resulting in the first goal of the game. Ethan Drever (who was very impressive once again) kicked the goal from long range to get us on the board. Unfortunately, we would only kick one more goal for the game as St Bernards squeezed us defensively. We were unable to shift the ball off the line to give our forwards any chance to impact the game. The quarter time score was SPC 1.0.6 to St Bernards 3.3.21
The second quarter was much the same with St Bernards firing on all cylinders. Ethan Drever Fraser Molan and Ethan Drever were having an impact around the stoppages and trying to keep us in the game, however our inaccuracy in front of goal took away any ascendancy that we were getting around the contest. Tessie Liem and Angus Morgan were trying to hold up in defence, however it felt like they were plugging holes in a dam wall! We went to the half time break losing 1.3.9 to 7.2.44.
At half time the coaches made some changes to try and reinvigorate the team and provide a more competitive game. Ethan Drever continued his stellar performance and Fraser Molan and Lincoln Koliba were giving us first use. Again however, we couldn’t maximise our opportunities going forward, we only managed 1.1.7 for the quarter.
Kai Watkins provided some spark as a high forward getting up the ground and then getting to the fall of ball. Jackson McInerney was able to get onto some loose balls by utilising his terrific leg speed. Lachie Squire was also prominent, providing a contest in the air and using his kicking and decision making to the benefit of the team. ¾ time score SPC 16 to St Bernards 57
The last quarter was probably our best of the game even though we lost the quarter. SPC managed just four behinds from 12 inside 50’s. St Bernards kicked 2.2 from 10 inside 50’s. After two losses in a row, we look forward to taking on Whitefriars at their house in Week 6.
