Principal's Report

Dear families,

This week, we celebrate the richness of diversity in Harmony Week. In our school community we live by our Core Values of Hospitality and Respect, and we welcome staff, students, and families from many cultures.

Congratulations to our Year 10 students who won the interschool  National Science and Engineering Competition at Longerenong yesterday with a record score of 1467 out of a possible 1600. Nash Friend also broke a record for the best designed wind turbine. They will now go onto compete at the State finals.

Welcome Bishop Mark

Below is a message welcoming Bishop Elect Mark Freeman and thanking Bishop Paul Bird from DOBCEL Executive Director Tom Sexton. We look forward to welcoming Bishop Mark to St Brigid’s in the future.

This week marks a significant moment in the life of our Diocese, as we gather at St Patrick’s Cathedral in Ballarat today for the Ordination and Installation of Bishop-Elect Fr Mark Freeman.

This is a deeply important and joyful occasion for our diocesan community. The Ordination of a bishop is a moment of renewal and continuity in the life of the Church, and many of our leaders will have the privilege of being present to witness and celebrate Fr Mark as he takes up this new role of leadership and service.

As we look ahead to this occasion, I also take this opportunity to again acknowledge and thank Bishop Paul for his faithful leadership and support of Catholic education across our Diocese. As he begins his retirement, we remain deeply grateful for his wisdom, care and steady guidance over many years, and we wish him every blessing in this next chapter.

Open Day 

We are excited to show off our new facilities to prospective future students and families at our Open Day on 29 April. Please pass the word around to those families that you think might wish to join us. Due to increased inquiries and to cater for working families, we have decided to add an Opening Evening on Monday 4 May at 6.00pm.
