    Catholic Identity

As we enter Week 8 and progress closer to Easter Sunday, there is lots to celebrate and lots to look forward to! As always, I thank families for supporting students in their faith journey, by doing this, families are being "Bearers of Christs’” love as the first educators of their children in the faith.

Looking back…

On Thursday, we were very proud of the students in Year 4 who attended Parish Mass. This is always a highlight for regular Parishioners with many family members taking the time to attend also- Thank you.

World Day of Prayer- Nigeria.

Last Friday, students in Year 6 were invited to participate in the World Day of Prayer- Hosted by the Parish of St Joseph. During this morning, Christian denominations from Bulli gathered in prayer, to support families in Nigeria and recognise the incredible faith that people of Nigeria have. We were fortunate to listen to Nwanyieze Nwali, mother of Emmanuella, speak first hand about her experience and share the contagious joy that people of Nigeria have, despite not having much. The Year 6 students were praised for their incredible respect and reverence and we thank the Year 6 teachers for supporting them so well.

Bump it up this Lent!

Have you heard your children mentioning a "Bump it up wall" in their class? We've brought this engaging concept to our whole school with a special Lent "Bump it up wall," created by the students in Year 2. The students collaboratively brainstormed acts of service and positive actions they could undertake or encourage others to do throughout the Lenten season. They then categorised these ideas into four levels of commitment: BASIC (easy and simple to do), GOOD, GREAT, and WOW. Some of these suggested actions directly support the important work of Project Compassion.

This week, popcorn, Zooper Doopers, Preloved books and scrunchies were back by popular demand and the coloured bins for 10c containers have been overflowing! Outside of school (and with permission from their parents) some students have gone above and beyond. One particular group of students have gathered the limes from their lime tree and sold them around their neighbourhood, raising over $70.00, but most importantly, awareness for such a great cause.

Know of someone who is “Bumping it up” this Lent and doing great things for a great cause? We would love to hear about it!

A Day with Laurence Freeman- Christian Meditation

Last Friday, I attended a professional development opportunity focused on Christian Meditation. Fr Laurence Freeman shared his deep experience, exploring its many benefits and relevance today. In the afternoon, we reflected on how this practice is being lived and integrated in schools across the Diocese of Wollongong and internationally.  I look forward to how this practice continues to demonstrate impact across our school. Click the LINK to find out more.

Looking forward…

Feast of St Joseph: Thursday 19 March

This Thursday, we gather together once again to celebrate the Feast day of St Joseph. We will begin the day with a whole school Mass, then students will deepen their understanding of St Joseph in their classrooms. At the end of the day, students will receive a special treat from the P&F committee and share what exciting things they did at our whole school Assembly. This has been moved from Friday to Thursday due to the Cross Country the next day.

Did you know that in the Bible Saint Joseph does not have any recorded words or dialogue. His actions, particularly his obedience to God's will speak louder than words in the Gospel accounts.
