Back-to-Back Success for Jacaranda!
After a strong performance at the House Swimming Carnival, Jacaranda has now also taken out the House Athletics Carnival, completing an impressive double for 2026. Congratulations to all Jacaranda students on a fantastic achievement!
Thank you to our entire school community for helping make this year’s Athletics Carnival another great success. The enthusiasm, participation, and support shown by students and staff throughout the day contributed to a fantastic event.

Divisional House Results
The best Aspire group earning the most points for their house in the entire school was 8Y2. Well done!
The best Aspire groups at each year level earning the most house points were 7B2, 8Y2, 9E1, 10B1, 11E2 and 12Y2. The Aspire group with the best performing females in the school was 8Y2, and best performing males was 7B2! Chocolate frogs are coming to your Aspire groups soon. Well done!
We saw many outstanding moments this year with eight new records set; four by Eva Swilks alone and one from all the way back in 1985!
Brentwood students showed amazing talent throughout the carnival, and the willingness of students to participate and earn house points was fantastic. In 2026, the Age Champions were recognised in two categories: Track Champions and Field Champions. These students earned the highest number of individual points in either track or field events for their house.

The results from the House Athletics Carnival will now help form the Brentwood Athletics Team, who will compete in Term 3. With the talent and determination displayed at the House Carnival, I am excited about what lies ahead.
Cross Country is Coming!
Did someone say cross country? Our trials are coming early in Term 2!
All girls and boys aged 13–15 will run 3 km, while 16–20 boys will take on the 5 km challenge.
Now’s the time to start preparing. Get running, build your endurance, and challenge yourself to do your best.

Brentwood’s Sporting Hall of Fame
After Brentwood’s success with our Senior and Intermediate softball teams qualifying for EMR, and with our Year 7 and 8 teams almost ready to compete at the Monash Division level, it was the perfect opportunity to announce our third Sporting Hall of Fame inductee for the term.

Softball
Kylie Steemers has proudly represented Australia at the World Games and Canadian Cup in 2022, as well as the World Finals in 2023. She is currently a member of the Aussie Spirit National Softball Team, competing against the best players in the world.
With softball set to return at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games, Kylie is part of an exciting group of Australian athletes aiming for the ultimate goal, representing Australia on the Olympic stage.
Monash Division Swimming Champions!
Brentwood has done it again! 16 years in a row! Our swimming team are the Monash Division Champions for 2026! A HUGE congratulations to all our swimmers that represented Brentwood at the recent Monash Division Swimming Championships, at Aquanation.
Thank you to our younger swimmers filling older age group gaps in our team and these swimmers were very competitive and most won a ribbon. Thank you!
Brentwood returned to school with 3 shields; we won both the junior and intermediate age group shields, and the Overall Shield! Brentwood set an incredible 12 new Monash Division records and we have four swimmers awarded Age Champions for the meet! A fantastic achievement!

Thank you to Mrs Burke, Ms Wrench Joseph, Ms Bradley and Sanjana for officiating and looking after our team throughout the day. Without these staff helpers the event would not run and your child/ren would not get the chance to compete and represent Brentwood SC. Thank you also to Mr Palmer for leading the Principal presentations.
All those swimmers who won their events have now qualified to represent Brentwood and the Monash Division at Eastern Metropolitan Region on Monday March 30. The EMR competition will be held at Aquanation, in Ringwood. We wish all swimmers the best of luck at this championship.
