Farewell to the Class of 2025
It was with immense pride — and a touch of sadness — that we farewelled our Class of 2025 in a blaze of glory.
The celebrations began with a Year 12-only assembly on Friday morning, filled with laughter, a heartfelt tribute from YLL Monique Sheehy, and a special musical performance featuring surprise guests who will remain a secret forever! This was followed by a whole-school assembly where our inspiring school captains delivered a moving speech on behalf of their cohort. College Principal Amy Porter also addressed the assembly, reflecting on the journey of our current and future graduates.
There was also the well anticipated announcement of our 2025 House Cup winners — Coppersmith (Green House). The morning concluded with the entire school community clapping our Year 12 students as they exited the assembly for the final time — a truly emotional moment.

The celebration then turned to fun and festivities, with Year 12 students enjoying inflatable obstacle courses, bungee runs, music, toasties, and ice cream. Our students are to be commended for their maturity, respect, and joyful spirit — we could not be more proud of the way they celebrated this important milestone.

The week concluded on Sunday with our Graduation Ceremony at Robert Blackwood Hall, Monash University. It was a grand and memorable occasion as our students entered the hall in procession and crossed the stage to mark the completion of their 13-year educational journey. The evening featured tributes, music, dance, alumni speakers, and special guests — a fitting celebration of this remarkable cohort.

We wish the Class of 2025 every success in their exams and the bright futures ahead. We know they will continue to make a positive difference in the world.
Looking Ahead
As our graduating students move on, our focus now turns to the remainder of the student body as we head toward examinations and the end of semester.
Our Year 11 students have transitioned from uniform to the senior dress code — a rite of passage at Sandringham College. Many are already studying a Year 12 subject, and we wish them every success in their exams.
Year 7–11 examinations commence on Friday, November 7. Please check the examination timetable and support your young person at home with revision and study. The purpose of these exams is not only to assess knowledge and skills but also to help students build the habits and confidence required for future VCE examinations. Students are encouraged to follow their teachers’ advice on how best to prepare.
Students in Years 9–11 who are absent from an exam must provide a medical certificate to explain their absence.
This term, our Year 9 students have engaged in several valuable Life Skills sessions. The visit from Tomorrow Man, featuring surprise guest Collingwood Captain Darcy Moore, provided an inspiring session focused on character development and positive masculinity. Students also attended the “Smashed” Theatre Program, which delivered an impactful message about alcohol and drug awareness. We encourage all families to continue these important conversations at home.

Music Excellence
It was a delight to witness the incredible talent of our Years 7–11 Music students at the Music Soirée on October 22. Students performed in ensembles, bands, and solo acts, showcasing the depth of skill within our program.
Congratulations to Scott Hobson, Tim Clifton, and our dedicated Instrumental Music staff for their expert guidance. This was followed by another outstanding evening — the VCE Unit 2 Music Night — where our Year 11 students performed a diverse range of genres. Congratulations again to Tim Clifton for his leadership and support of these emerging musicians.

We are excited to present our Dance Showcase on Sunday, November 23, and Monday, November 24. Tickets are available via TryBooking — it promises to be another spectacular event!
As we approach the end of Semester Two, please note that our Headstart Program begins on Monday, November 24. This program marks the formal commencement of the 2026 academic year, with students beginning their new subjects and receiving important tasks to complete over the summer break. Attendance during this period is essential to ensure a smooth start to the year ahead.
