TheirCare News

Hi parents, guardians, staff, and friends! Welcome to Week 8 of Term 1!

There is one more week before this term comes to an end! This week has gone by so quickly. Our theme for this week is “Easter.” It has been a crazy, busy yet fun week at TheirCare. We started the week with 52 children on Monday afternoon and a large number of 70 plus children attending each of the afternoon sessions so far this week.

Aside from sports, our children love engaging in arts and crafts activities that we prepare every afternoon. This week we had so much fun doing arts and crafts activities, one of which is the “Easter Bunny Ears” in which the children have shown great creativity in designing and decorating their own bunny ears. We also did a “Build-a-bunny” craft activity - the students loved the outcome of the bunny they built, and it was so lovely to see the joy on their faces when they saw their creations.

In TheirCare we always value the children’s choices, so we give them the opportunity to choose the activities they'd like to do. Some of them played in a soccer match competition, others played gaga ball, and others were happy playing and exploring the playground.

As we all know, Ashleigh is stepping down from her position as a Co-ordinator and her last day in this role will be on Wednesday, 27th of March. She will remain a permanent team member of Footscray West TheirCare while finishing her final year of her master’s degree. In exciting news, Angie will be taking over the Co-ordinator Role starting on the last day of school. Angie is the current 2IC of Footscray West TheirCare. Congratulations on your new role, Angie!

This week’s Pupil of the Week is Aryan Kantharaju (5LW) for being an amazing helper to the younger children in making their breakfast in the morning. Well done, Aryan! You should be very proud!! 😊😊

It is with excitement to announce that tomorrow the children attending TheirCare in the afternoon will be joining in a Picnic Party in celebration of Planet Earth Hour. There will be craft activities, such as making your own lanterns and there will be yummy foods prepared in the afternoon.
