BIODIVERSITY COMPETITION FOR NARANGA SCHOOL COMMUNITY

Biodiversity means the different kinds of plants and animals and the places they live.

During September Frankston City Council is celebrating Biodiversity Month by partnering with neighbouring councils to hold Biodiversity Blitz 2024!

The Frankston council is running a competition between local councils on who can record the most species and invite schools to participate in this engaging and educational event. Our school community can get involved in this event during the school holidays.

Join this project from the 1st - 30th of September 2024 then head outdoors with students to snap photos of flora and fauna in the Frankston area and upload them to iNaturalist. Your observations will automatically be added to this project.

You will be contributing to community science and showing the world the amazing biodiversity Frankston city has to offer as well as learning more about your local wildlife and flora!

Frankston City is currently second on the leader board: https://inaturalist.ala.org.au/projects/biodiversity-blitz-2024-melbourne
