There was much excitement last week as students visited our Mother’s Day Stall. A wonderful variety of gifts was on offer, including colourful earrings, socks, chocolates and much more! Students also decorated their own Mother’s Day-themed carry bags with beautiful drawings and thoughtful messages.

A very big thank you to Danielle Robinson and her daughters, Lucy and Zoe, for organising and setting up the stall. We would also like to thank our wonderful team of parent helpers — Nicola, Sophie, Christina, Karen, Bonnie, Eka, Queenie, Lucy, Sarah and Elena — for their support in making the event such a success.

Our Foundation to Grade 2 students participated in their House Cross Country this afternoon on Brookville Park. Every student gave their absolute best, with fierce competition right to the finish line. Students crossed the line with red faces, puffed cheeks and a well-earned look of exhaustion after showing determination and perseverance throughout the event.

Congratulations to our winning house, Nelson, followed by Monash in 2nd place, Kingsford in 3rd and the mighty Hinkler in 4th place.

Well done to all competitors for their fantastic effort and sportsmanship!

Our Grade 2 students had a fantastic time visiting Werribee Zoo yesterday. Students participated in an engaging workshop about wallabies and their habitat, before getting the opportunity to see them up close in real life.

The highlight of the day was travelling on the safari bus, where students saw giraffes, zebras, antelope, a variety of birds, bison and wild Mongolian horses roaming across the open plains. During their walk through the zoo, students also visited the gorillas and lions.

It was a wonderful day of learning The weather was also amazing -  blue sky and sunshine!

Possum Magic

We had a very sneaky possum visiting our Art Room last week! A trail of destruction was left behind each morning for Mrs Reynolds to clean up before art classes could begin.

Thankfully, Luke the very experienced possum catcher came to our rescue. Rather than using a trap, Luke relied on his expert knowledge to locate the possum and his quick hands to safely catch it.

The possum managed to escape from Luke the first time, but during the second attempt, its tail hanging out of the end of a plastic tube filled with pipecleaners gave its whereabouts away!

We are pleased to report that Luke successfully relocated the possum to a more suitable habitat away from the classroom.
