Club de Español 

What a wonderful way to say goodbye to Term 3! Our last Club de Español activity was a beautiful celebration of the national days of Mexico (September 15) and Chile (September 18) , filled with delicious food, traditional games, laughter and plenty of sunshine!

We started with some amazing Chilean empanadas and sopaipillas, which all kids lined up to try. For some, these were completely new flavours; others already knew them, and even a few were very happy to come back for seconds! It was a wonderful opportunity to introduce the children to some delicious Chilean treats. 

And Melbourne gave us the perfect sunny day to take the fun outdoors! 

The children enjoyed some classic games that took many of us parents back to our own childhoods. 

We started with the egg-and-spoon race...

Followed by the hilarious donut challenge, where the children had to eat a donut hanging from a string without using their hands! The laughter said it all and of course everyone wanted a turn!

Then came the sack races, followed by the very funny three-legged race, where pairs had to tie one leg together and work as a team to walk, run and make it to the finish line with three legs!

And finally, the grand finale: tug-of-war, with two teams battling it out to see who could pull the rope across the line! 

It was a beautiful reminder that sometimes the simplest things are the most fun. Going back to basics, playing traditional games, enjoying the outdoors, laughing together and simply being present.

A huge thank you to Carla and Abner for bringing such a beautiful celebration to our Club de Español and helping us finish Term 3 on such a joyful note.
