WHAT A GREAT TERM 3

As Term 3 comes to a close, it is wonderful to reflect on what has been another incredibly busy and successful term at Warrnambool Primary School.

There has been so much to celebrate. Our Performing Arts program came alive with our fantastic production of The Little Mermaid. Congratulations to all of our students and staff involved. The commitment, confidence and perseverance shown by our performers was wonderful to see.

Our students have also embraced a range of sporting opportunities, including basketball and swimming. We have been incredibly proud of the way our students have represented our school, demonstrated teamwork and supported one another.

Across the school, we continue to see positive social, wellbeing and academic outcomes. These results are a reflection of the hard work, persistence and perseverance of our students, supported by the dedication of our teachers and staff. It is pleasing to see our students continuing to grow, learn and challenge themselves.

There has also been plenty happening around our buildings and grounds! The many building and improvement projects undertaken throughout the year are slowly coming to a conclusion. We thank our students, staff and families for their patience and understanding while these works have been underway.

And, of course, we are now looking forward with great excitement to Term 4 and our 150th Anniversary celebrations. This is a very special milestone for Warrnambool Primary School, and we look forward to welcoming past and present students, families, staff and members of our wider community to celebrate our wonderful school.

Thank you to our students, staff, families and community for making Term 3 such a positive and productive term.

Enjoy the holiday break, take the opportunity to rest and recharge, and most importantly, stay safe. We look forward to seeing everyone back for a fantastic Term 4.

150 YEARS - A LONG HISTORY

WARRNAMBOOL AGRICULTURAL HIGH SCHOOL

(NOW CALLED THE INFANT BUILDING FOUNDATION & YEAR 1)

One of the first of its kind in the state, the Warrnambool Agricultural High School, opened in April 1907, initially on Koroit Street, moving into a purpose-built building on Jamieson Street in November of the same year. Its purpose: ‘to provide the most modern, practical, and scientific education in all branches of knowledge relating to farming, dairying, and agriculture.’ The new co-educational school had two streams – the Agricultural Course – with subjects such as agricultural principles, botany, chemistry, mathematics and modern languages; and the Teaching Course – with English, nature study, theory of teaching and geometry.

THANK YOU FOR A FANTASTIC FOOTY BREAKFAST

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make our Footy Breakfast such a wonderful morning at Warrnambool Primary School!

Thank you to all the parents, carers, staff and students who came along, proudly wearing their footy colours and helping us celebrate the end of a very busy term together.

A special thank you to everyone who volunteered their time to cook, serve, set up, clean up and help behind the scenes. Your generosity and willingness to lend a hand made the morning possible and created such a positive atmosphere for our school community.

It was fantastic to see so many smiling faces, hear plenty of footy banter and enjoy a breakfast together as a school community.

Thank you to everyone who contributed in any way. It is these community events that make Warrnambool Primary School such a special place to belong.

Well done, everyone, and enjoy the footy.

GOOD LUCK

Good luck to Jarryd Lewis in the Hampden Football Netball League (HFNL) Senior football Grand Final on the weekend. And to anyone else involved in finals we wish you all the best.

Have a great weekend.
