On 5-6 February, the Year 9 cohort was fortunate enough to embark on a team-building experience as a commencement to their Rite Journey Program.
The aim of the Rite Journey Program in Year 9 is a year-long Rite of Passage program designed to acknowledge and celebrate each student’s shift into adulthood. In Year 9, the key learnings are:
Team building goes beyond the realm of casual socialising. It cultivates a sense of belonging and mutual trust among team members, essential ingredients for a cohesive, trusting, and high-performing team which is what Rite Journey aims to bring to each group.
By engaging in collaborative activities outside of the classroom, the Rite Journey teams were able to gain valuable insights into each other strengths and working styles. It is hoped that this understanding will allow for smoother collaboration and conflict resolution in classrooms across the year. This excursion also provided an opportunity for Rite Journey Leaders to learn about individuals in their class so that the Rite Journey course can be tailored to gain the most out of each session.
These couple of days are experiences that we hope to nurture strong interpersonal relationships, foster better communication, and promote a culture of collaboration and mutual respect and support of each other in year 9. From the many conversations had, a majority of the students thoroughly enjoyed this day out to work on building relationships with each other and their Rite Journey Leader/Pastoral Care Teacher.

Thank you to all parents, carers, and students who were able to attend this night. It was exciting to meet new parents and carers. If you were unable to attend the session, you can watch the below recordings or read the Year 10 presentation.
