Chev Need to Knows
22 March 2024
Monday 25 March is not a Flipped Monday and all students are required to attend school. Students should come prepared for Day 5 lessons as per their timetable.
As mentioned in the Principal's message in last week's Need to Knows, parents and carers are welcome to provide feedback about your child's experience of Flipped Mondays to the dedicated email address actionresearch@chevalier.nsw.edu.au.
All students will receive a new Student ID Card on Monday 25 March. Students are expected to carry their ID card with them at all times.
The ID cards are for:

Winter is fast approaching and students are required to return to school for Term 2 in their winter uniform.
Please pop into the Chev Shop during the term time opening hours or during the holiday break. Please visit the website for shop opening hours, price lists or further information.
You can also call and place an order on 4861 0540 and we will assist your child in sizing where required.
Once again, we will be hosting a Mother’s Day High Tea to celebrate the wonderful mums, grandmothers and special people in our students' lives. This event was a great success last year, and we would love to have members of our school community partnering with us to help organise this event.
If you would like to join the Mother’s Day Committee, please fill out this form:
Our annual Open Day is coming up soon. If you have any friends or family interested in a tour of our facilities on Open Day, please direct them to our bookings page.
It’s a lovelyopportunity to see everything on offer at the College including the key learning areas, extracurricular activities, agriculture and the farm, visual and performing arts, and to enjoy some great hospitality from our student-run Jules Café. Tours are led by the students so families can ask any questions and get a feel for day to day life at Chevalier College.
On that note, if your child would like to volunteer on the day, please ask them to complete an Expression of Interest form in the next few days.
Any students wishing to trial for the below ISA/CIS Representative teams need to complete an expression of interest by 5.00pm Wednesday 27 March.
The expression of interest form can be found on Student Central.
The Cross Country Carnival will be held on Monday 8 April on the College grounds.
Any student wishing to participate must complete their registration via SportsTracker.Registrations close at 10.00am on Wednesday 3 April. For more information on Sports Tracker Registrations please follow the student user guide.
Only students who are registered to participate will attend the event.
Does your child have a performance, band and/or vocal group who would be ready to showcase their talent as an item or set for a school and/or Chevalier College-connected community event (outside of our usual CAPALoT ensembles)? They might be a band looking for a gig, or a singer-songwriter with an original hit looking for an audience, they may even be a dancer who has an original composition ready to amaze...
If so, we want to be their agent while they’re at Chevalier College. The Creative Arts, Performing Arts, Languages, One Team are starting the “CAPALoT Agency” for performance opportunities at school-connected events. With Open Day coming up, now is a great time.
How it works - if your child has a performance item or set ready to be showcased at a school-connected community event (there are many opportunities on offer during the year, as well as many more to be created – like Lunchtime Theatre events) contact Mr Combes at combesj@chevalier.nsw.edu.au with “CAPALoT Agency” in the subject line, and a little bit about your child’s performance abilities.
One of the CAPALoT staff will organise a time to audition the item and will then let your child know if they are on the agency list. Student performers on the “CAPALoT Agency” list will be the first contacted to perform at various upcoming events and opportunities.
We look forward to giving your child an audience!
