Religious Education
F/1/2
The F/1/2 students have been learning about God's Great Family! Last week they were learning about Moses! Last week they talked about the story of Moses and the Burning Bush. Moses and the Burning Bush teaches students that God is always with us and supports us in everything we do. The F/1/2 students talked about other people like God who are always there supporting them such as their families and friends. They then created their very own Burning Bushes to remind them that there are always people around us to help us.
Feast of Mary of the Cross
The feast of Australia's first born saint, is on August 8 each year. Mary MacKillop's work in early Catholic Education led to the formation of the Sisters of St Joseph, who played a role in the formation of Catholic Education in the Yarra Valley, hence the naming of our school. Two quotes from Mary you may like to ponder over the next week are,
"never see a need without doing something about it" & "believe in the whisperings of God in your own heart"
The Assumption of Mary
We will have a whole school mass on Thursday , August 15 at 11.30 for this special day. This solemnity recalls Mary as the member of humankind who brought God into the world and then at the chosen time was assumed into heaven.
