Good afternoon Families, Staff, and most especially our boys and girls.

Today we gather, with grateful hearts, to give thanks to God first and foremost for the many blessings bestowed upon the St Francis Xavier community. 

At St Francis Xavier, our mission calls us to know Jesus through learning. 

Our vision inspires us to be a community where every child is known, valued, and inspired to flourish. Our values of service, respect, compassion,  stewardship and excellence  are not just words; they are lived each day in classrooms, playgrounds and homes.

Today is a celebration of that shared mission and vision.

We have achieved much this year.  We have had a wonderful 95th Anniversary Year with a beautiful opening school mass Jubilee Year of Hope with our own mini pilgrimage

The new playground has been a hit and Robotics lessons to name but a few!

To our Year 6 students, you are our leaders, our role models, and our legacy. You remind us that faith, learning and service go hand in hand, and that leadership is always grounded in love, responsibility and example. Good luck in high school.

To Year 5, you are stepping into leadership with maturity, compassion and purpose, you model what it means to serve others with humility. You are all leaders and will be great in 2026!

To Year 4, your curiosity, leadership and growing sense of justice reflect the call to live our faith through action and service. Some of you are leaving us today and will be missed.

To Year 3, as you continue to develop confidence and resilience, you are discovering your voice and your capacity to contribute meaningfully to our community. You are a joy!

To Year 2, you are learning to persevere, to collaborate an you have had your best year yet at this school! Keep it up!

To Year 1, your excitement for learning and your growing independence reflect the joy of discovery and bravo for your work in STEM.

To our Kindergarten students, you have done so well. All are superstars!

To our parents and families, thank you for your trust, partnership and support. You are the first educators of your children, and together we form a powerful community committed to their growth in faith and learning.

To our teachers and thank you for your unwavering commitment, professionalism and care. You do far more than teach curriculum; you form hearts, nurture faith, and walk alongside each child with patience and hope. Your vocation is evident in the relationships you build and the standards you uphold. High Expectations for All!

Our leaving staff Connie, Sarah & Aideen thank you for your service you will be missed!

To our new staff Stefan, Samantha, Paula and Toni we look forward to being a part of our community in 2026!

Our support staff, no job is to big or small. Nothing is a trouble Maria, Rhodelia, Linda, Mona, Jo, Steph, Katrina, Rebecca, Louise and Lina thank you.

Our leadership team, Mrs Barbera, Mr Criniti, Mrs Girgenti and Mrs Rodrigo thank you for supporting me in making this school the school of excellence that it is!

Mrs Scullion, you work at SFX is excellent and we are all the better to have you here as deputy.

In our 95th anniversary year We also honour and give special thanks to the Ursuline Sisters, whose vision, courage and faith laid the foundations upon which our school proudly stands today. Your legacy of service, education and Gospel witness continues to inspire generations of learners and educators at St Francis Xavier.

Thank you also to Father Richard for all you do for the parish and school.

As we give thanks for the past and present, we also look forward with hope, confident that God will continue to guide our community as we grow, learn and serve together.
