Summer produce
Last week students picked a large Kent pumpkin that had been growing on the vine in our kitchen garden. Pathways students planted the pumpkin seedling in Term 2 last year. The pumpkin weighed over three kilograms. We will cook the pumpkin and use it in different vegetable cooking. You can put cold mashed pumpkin in a fruit cake recipe or a scone recipe. There is even enough to make pumpkin soup.
One of our senior students Kane, brought a fantastic sized capsicum to school that he grew in his garden at home. Well done, Kane! This is a great achievement.
If you have any growing stories or produce you want to share with the school community, please contact your teacher and we can feature them on the Green page.
