 PB4L Expectations and Reminders

Setting clear expectations for behaviour and uniform is essential to ensure all students are Respectful, Responsible, and Safe. To reinforce these standards, we are regularly re-teaching our school's expectations within individual classes and across the whole school, making sure every student is well-informed. We appreciate parents' support in promoting these high expectations with their children.

Ask your child about the weekly focus for students.

This week's focus:

Let’s Get

Transition Routines Right!

Morning & Afternoon Transition

Transition between lessons/subjects

Respond respectfully to bells; Move quietly and safely around the school

Be responsible by listening to instructions and managing impulsivity

A big thank you to all parents and carers for your understanding and cooperation during  afternoon dismissal. We really appreciate your support. As a reminder, all students gather and sit under cover on the grassed area facing the basketball court at the end of the day. We ask that all parents and carers, no matter which gate you usually use, make your way to the basketball court to wait for your child/children. The aim is to enhance student safety through improved visibility and supervision, ensure a more organised and efficient dismissal, and support our staff in managing student movement smoothly. Staff supported students practising the afternoon dismissal routine this week.

Environment Matters

Joey The Gnome

The Year 6 Green Thumbs team have led a fantastic initiative, to encourage us all to look after our playground spaces. We were introduced to Joey the Gnome who is given to the class that has the cleanest playground space over the 2 week period.

The first class to be awarded Joey was 1J!

Congratulations on leading the way and well done to our Green thumbs team, led by Mr Matthews, for this fantastic initiative.

Mathematics & Religion Books Coming Home For Sharing & Celebration!

Gallery Image

Get ready to celebrate your child's learning journey in Mathematics and Religious Education! Next Friday (Week 9), your child will bring home their Mathematics & Religion book, filled with fantastic work and progress. This is a wonderful opportunity for them to share their learning with you and for you to provide encouragement and celebrate their achievements.

Inside their book, you'll find a Parent Reflection and Celebration Slip. We invite you to take a moment to leave a comment, share your thoughts, and acknowledge your child's efforts. We look forward to continuing our partnership and working together to help your child thrive and grow in their faith, learning, and well-being so they can truly live life to the full.

Please ensure that your child’s books are returned to school on Monday 22 June (Week 10).

St Joseph’s Choir Shines at the City of Wollongong Eisteddfod

On Tuesday 2 June, our St Joseph’s School Choir proudly competed in the City of Wollongong Eisteddfod, and what a wonderful evening it was!

The choir was recognised for its hard work, dedication, and musical talent, achieving an outstanding 2nd Place in the competition. We are incredibly proud of the commitment, enthusiasm, and school pride our students displayed while representing St Joseph’s.

Throughout the year, our choir members have worked diligently to develop their singing skills and performance confidence. It was a joy to watch them take to the stage with such confidence, energy, and enjoyment.

A sincere thank you to our families and St Joseph’s staff for their wonderful support and encouragement. Your presence and support helped make the evening even more special for our students.

Congratulations to all of our choir members on this fantastic achievement. It was a memorable evening and a proud moment for our school community.

Updating School Facilities

Gallery Image

Thanks to the generous P&F contribution of $35 000, which was the amount raised at last year’s Spring Fair, we are currently seeking quotes from various providers to replace the play equipment on Grass Area 1 (behind the Church). In the coming weeks, we will be seeking staff and student voice to inform the design. At this point in time, we hope to have this work completed in readiness for the 2027 school year.

We have recently upgraded the student toilet doors by adding extra ventilation and adjusting the door closers to make the doors lighter and easier for students to use.
