Dear Parents,
Principal's Network Meeting
Last Friday, our school had the privilege of hosting the Bathurst Principal Network Meeting, welcoming secondary and primary principals from across the network. This special event provided a unique opportunity to open our doors and offer a glimpse into our vibrant classrooms through engaging learning walks, including the chance to observe several live mathematics lessons in action.
I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations to our dedicated teachers for generously sharing their expertise in explicit teaching strategies, enriching our leadership community and fostering professional growth.
Equally important, the meeting involved planning additional collaboration between our school and the local high schools, a plan that will strengthen our transition practices and better support our students as they move into high school.
I am proud of the collaborative spirit demonstrated and look forward to continued growth and connection within our educational community.
Girls Rugby League
This week, Lilly Guihot, Mia Higgins and Frankie Klein have been in Girl's Rugby League Championships representing Western at Cronulla. The girls played very well, coming up against some tough competition. A special congratulations to Lilly, who was named Best and Fairest in her team. Well done, girls!
Spotlight on Attendance
We want to say a big thank you to all the families who help their children come to school every day and on time. These good habits really do make a difference as children grow. If you are having any difficulties that may be affecting your child’s attendance — such as morning routines, illness, worries about school, or family challenges — don't hesitate to get in touch with us. We are here to listen, work together, and support you and your child.
Half Term Comparison
We're happy to share that our attendance rate for the first half of Term 2 is steady. While the number of students attending more than 90% of the time has dipped a little, our school is still performing better than similar schools and the state average. Our unexplained attendance rate remains at 8%. Thank you for remembering to explain your child's absences - we really do appreciate it.
Term 2 - Weeks 1-5
Term 1 - Weeks 6-11
King's Birthday Public Holiday
A reminder that there will be no school on Monday due to the King's Birthday Public Holiday.
We hope all of our students, staff and families enjoy a safe and relaxing long weekend, and we look forward to seeing everyone back at school on Tuesday.
If you have any concerns about any aspect of school life, please do not hesitate contact me.
