From the Principal
Hi everyone!
Another busy two weeks here at OGPS!
Firstly - thank you to all of our families and friends that attended our Open Night last week. It is always special to come to school in the dark and it was so much fun to see all of our students and their families engaging in a range of classroom activities to showcase the learning we do here during the day. Such a fun night!
Again, we have had a busy few weeks with sporting events - with our District cross country team coming third and with many of our students progressing through to Regional. We also participated in our first Year 3 and 4 Hoop Time, which was super exciting! We had both girls and boys teams win their events. The boys team won in a golden-point finish, after two 5-minute overtime periods ended with the scores still tied. It was definitely an exciting day! Thank you to all families who support us with these events, we really appreciate it.
Our Walk Safely to School Day last Friday was well supported - thank you to everyone who took part. It is great to see the amount of bikes being used on a daily basis this year - so to have a day to highlight this was brilliant.
With the end of term approaching we will have team planning days coming up - please look out for Compass communications from your teachers as to when these are. Specialist teachers will take year levels for the day and these may be different to the usual specialist sessions.
Finally, I will be taking long service leave from the 10th of June until the end of term, so Andrew Moore will be Acting Principal during this time. The final newsletter of the term will be from him, so I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for another fun and exciting term here at school.
