Welcome back to our final term of the year! We hope everyone had a wonderful break and has returned feeling refreshed, energised and ready to finish the year strongly. It has certainly been lovely to enjoy a taste of the beautiful spring sunshine too!
Of course, with the beautiful spring weather comes the need to be SunSmart. As per our SunSmart Policy, students are required to wear a broad-brimmed hat when outside in the yard. Hats can be purchased from Hip Pocket or from the school office.
Our final day of Term 3 was certainly one to remember! We finished the term with Mr Holmfield’s Footy Extravaganza, which was a fantastic celebration and such a fun way to end the school term.
There was plenty of excitement, laughter and footy spirit throughout the day. A huge thank you to Mr Holmfield for organising such a wonderful event for our students and to everyone who helped make the day such a success!
As is the case every term, Term 4 is already shaping up to be a very busy one!
On Wednesday, our Level 3 and 4 students were fortunate to participate in an Indigenous Cultural Day. It was wonderful to see our students engaging with a range of local Indigenous cultural organisations and community members, including our Koorie Engagement Support Officers (KESOs), VAEAI, Ganbina and the Njernda Youth Team. It was a fantastic day of learning, connection and cultural sharing. Our students had the opportunity to listen, participate and develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal culture and community.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to making the day such a successful and meaningful experience for our students. We are incredibly grateful to those who gave their time and shared their knowledge, culture and experiences with our students, and we value the ongoing support and connections we have with our local Aboriginal community and organisations.

We are continuing to make improvements across our school, with new reverse cycle air conditioners being installed in several rooms and all of the floor mats in the Art Centre and main corridor being replaced. The new mats look fantastic and feel even better underfoot! It’s great to see these improvements continuing to make our school spaces more comfortable, welcoming and enjoyable for our students and staff.
It’s that time of year again when we begin planning for our 2027 class placements.
If there are specific educational needs or considerations that you would like us to take into account when forming classes for next year, please make an appointment with me by Friday, 30 October (end of Week 4). Appointments can be arranged in person, via email or by phone.
Creating class groups is a thoughtful and complex process. There are many factors we consider to ensure each class has a balanced and fair mix of students, while also taking into account individual learning, social and educational needs.
Once the class placement process begins, it is important that we have all relevant information available, as changes to class placements cannot be made once the process is underway. We therefore ask that any information you would like considered is shared with us before the commencement of Week 5.
Thank you for your understanding and support as we work through this important process to create the best possible class groups for our students in 2027.
Next week will certainly not disappoint! Our Preps will be heading off to Bright Waves for swimming lessons, some of our Level 4 students will be competing in the Bowls and Basketball Tournaments, and we also have a group of talented Easties heading off to compete at the Regional Athletics Championships.
We wish all of our students the very best as they take part in these exciting opportunities. I am certain they will represent Echuca East with pride and, as always, do us proud!
Good luck, Easties! We’ll be cheering you on!
