Principals message

We were very proud to share that the school had achieved SWPBS Silver Status—an outstanding milestone reached in just two years. Thank you to Mr Prendergast, the SWPBS team, and all staff for their dedication, with our new sign celebrating this milestone, to be installed shortly.

NAPLAN has been successfully completed by the grade 3 and 5 students.  It was a difficult start on the first Monday with their being a technical issue at the department and we thank Mr Long for his organisation and coordination. 

Toilet upgrade works have now begun, with completion anticipated in August. Recently installed shade sails are already enhancing sun protection in our outdoor areas. The school hall has been painted. In addition, planning is underway to replace worn artificial turf in high-use areas to ensure both safety and presentation.

Our Harmony Day assembly was a wonderful celebration of the diversity within our school community. We also acknowledged and celebrated Eid, making the occasion especially meaningful for many of our families.  There are many more wonderful events planned for the rest of this year and for the school community to come together to celebrate our amazing students and families. We also had a terrific Easter hat parade where the Foundation, grade 1 and grade 2 students were able to display their creative hat making skills and it was lovely to see the Foundation students have the opportunity to not only participate in their first parade but walk around with their grade 6 buddies.

Term 2 will be another exciting term with many more events and excursions planned.  I look forward to hearing about the experiences of the grade 3 to 6 students who have chosen the attend the day camp which is a new excursion this year where they will have the opportunity to participate in some amazing activities such as the flying fox and giant swing and it is an excursion we hope to continue next year.  Also, there will be the annual Mother’s Day walk on Monday 4 May and also a planned STEAM showcase in Education week.  A wonderful term ahead!
