A Wonderful Start to School in Prep!

Our Prep students have made an incredible start to their first year of school, and we are so proud of how confidently and enthusiastically they have embraced this exciting new chapter.

In Literacy, we have been busy learning our sounds and the children are doing a fantastic job recognising, saying and beginning to blend sounds to read simple words. It has been wonderful to see their confidence growing each day as they realise they are becoming readers!

In Mathematics, we have begun exploring place value, developing our understanding of numbers and what each digit represents. The students have enjoyed using hands-on materials to build, represent and talk about numbers in different ways.

Beyond the classroom learning, our Preps have also been navigating school life beautifully. We have been focusing on our school expectations, learning how to move safely around the school, and practising what it means to be respectful, responsible and ready to learn. The children are showing great independence as they settle into routines and build friendships.

During PMP (Perceptual Motor Program) sessions, the children have been strengthening their gross motor skills through a variety of fun and engaging activities. From balancing and jumping to catching and coordinating movements, it has been fantastic to see their coordination grow. Our Preps have been busy learning Italian as well as taking part in Art, Sports and Performing Arts!

We are so proud of the way our Prep students have started the year, they are demonstrating enthusiasm, resilience and a real love of learning. What a wonderful beginning to their school journey!
