Art Club

Art Club students have been busy creating something very special for Christmas (to be announced soon), but this week, they’ve enthusiastically stepped in to help create a very special set piece for the junior production of The Lion King Jr.

The students have transformed a wooden structure into the iconic Pride Rock, the ancient, towering rock formation that overlooks the Pride Lands, where Rafiki presents the newborn cub, Simba to the kingdom. In the accompanying photographs, Art Club members can be seen immersed in painting Pride Rock, bringing earthy colours and rocky textures to this central set piece.

What makes this project particularly special is that many Art Club members are also part of the cast and crew for the production, contributing not only their artistic talents but also their energy and enthusiasm for the show. With their hard work, Pride Rock has become a visual highlight, setting the scene for a show that promises to be unforgettable.

Thanks to their enthusiasm and team spirit, Pride Rock stands ready to welcome audiences into the African Pride Lands!

Year 10 Students' Ceramic Busts

This term, our Year 10 Art students have been working on creating ceramic busts from clay. Each student has designed and sculpted a unique bust, drawing inspiration from both real and imagined figures.

Through this project, students have learned about facial anatomy, sculpting techniques, and artistic expression, developing both their technical skills and creativity. Working with clay also taught them patience and resilience, as they adjusted and refined their work along the way.

Pictured here are busts created by Will Sheehan, Max Learmonth, Leo Card, Finnley Walsh and Ben Cowling. A selection of the busts will be on display in main reception.
