Mr Hyatt

Happy Father's Day!

As we approach this upcoming Sunday, I extend my heartfelt wishes to all fathers for a truly remarkable Father's Day. The role that fathers play in the lives of their children is indispensable, as they provide essential guidance, wisdom, support, and love throughout their journeys. Exceptional fathers consistently make sacrifices to ensure their families enjoy a fulfilling life. Thank you, fathers, for your unwavering dedication.

Brain Olympia Cluster Wrap Up

On Wednesday, I was Tamworth with our two school teams for the Brain Olympia Trials and I have to admit I was quite emotional when the event had concluded. Our teams faced off against several larger and smaller schools within the diocese, engaging in a variety of academic activities, including general knowledge, mathematical problem-solving, public speaking, and the planning and performance of a drama skit.

Both of our teams achieved outstanding results. Team No. 1 placed 4th in the Small Schools Section and 8th overall out of all teams that competed. Congratulations go to Team No. 2 as they won the Small Schools Section and with the score that they obtained were the overall champions of the day!  This is a remarkable accomplishment considering we were among the smallest schools participating, and most of our squad had never competed in an event of this nature before.

Team No. 1 will now be competing in the Small Schools Section at the Brain Olympia Final that will be held at Gunnedah on Wednesday 11th September.

The day was thoroughly enjoyable. I would like to extend my gratitude to the numerous parents who assisted with transportation arrangements, enabling our teams to take part; your support is greatly appreciated.

Kindergarten Transition Program Has Commenced!

On Tuesday, we had the pleasure of welcoming Miley, Poppy, Riley, Dusty, Daisy, Cohen, Jack, Finn, Lacey, Patrick, Archie, Alistair and Matilda as they embarked on their first day of transition. The students engaged in a variety of activities throughout their initial day at the larger school, demonstrating remarkable enthusiasm and energy. Feedback indicates that our transition students enjoyed a wonderful experience and are eagerly anticipating their return next Tuesday. We extend our gratitude to Mrs. Makeham for her leadership during this transition, as it undoubtedly involved a demanding and eventful day.

Father's Day Breakfast, Grandparents Day, Book Fair and Book Week Fashion Parade-tomorrow, Friday 30th August

Tomorrow, August 30th, promises to be a vibrant morning filled with various activities. We will commence the day with our annual Father's Day Breakfast.

Additionally, during the morning session from 9:15 am to 10:30 am, we extend an invitation to all grandparents to participate in Grandparents Day, which will feature several activities in celebration of this special event, including the highlight of the day, our 'Book Week Fashion Parade.' We encourage everyone to visit the library to explore our Book Fair Display, culminating in our annual Book Week fashion parade. Bridget from The Herd Bar will be onsite throughout the morning, for those who wish to purchase a warm beverage.

This year's theme is 'Reading is Magic', and students are encouraged to dress up as their favorite book characters for the parade. I have sorted out my costume and it isn't anything like the Christopher Robin outfit I wore last year.

Should you wish to acquire a book and contribute it to the library, we would be pleased to accept your donation. The book you provide will feature a donation label affixed inside the cover, bearing your family's name, serving as a gift of reading to be shared with other children.

Canteen Helpers Desperately Needed!

Regrettably, we find ourselves in a predicament where the coordinators of the school's canteen are having difficulty securing sufficient volunteers to cover all the positions on the roster necessary for the canteen's operation every Monday and Friday. If anyone is in a position to offer assistance, we kindly request that you inform the school.

2024 School Improvement Survey

In 2024, the Catholic Schools Office has reappointed Survey My School to facilitate a platform through which parents can offer feedback regarding the existing practices and procedures at St. Patrick's School. Earlier this week, these surveys were distributed via email to all families and staff members. If you have not yet received your survey, please reach out to the school for assistance.
