Sheepvention

Our students represented the College throughout the event and looked outstanding in their uniforms as they welcomed families and visitors to our site. Whether helping children spin the wheel to win a handball, colouring sheet or lollipop, answering questions or simply having a chat, our students engaged positively with hundreds of people across the event.

One of our favourite parts of Sheepvention is the opportunity to reconnect with past Baimbridge students. We love hearing where life has taken them, what they have achieved since leaving school and the different pathways they have followed.

This year there was an extra Baimbridge connection behind the scenes, with the event coordinated by two of our own former students – Mikayla Rice (VCAL, Class of 2019) and Laura Bennetts (VCE, Class of 2012). It was wonderful to see Baimbridge alumni playing such an important role in delivering one of our region’s major community events.

A big thank you to the students and staff who represented Baimbridge so well and to everyone who stopped by to say hello. Sheepvention continues to be a great opportunity for us to connect with our community – past, present and future.

Visit from Dan Tehan

The Hon Dan Tehan MP, Member for Wannon, recently visited Baimbridge College to meet with our senior student leaders and present the College with new Australian, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags.

What began as a catch-up quickly became an engaging conversation about leadership, aspirations and the many different pathways our students hope to pursue beyond school.

Mr Tehan heard from a group with an impressive range of ambitions, including a future engineer with a keen interest in politics – which particularly sparked his interest – as well as students aspiring to careers as a military police officer, botanist and English teacher.

Throughout the discussion, Mr Tehan was impressed by the confidence, maturity and leadership qualities demonstrated by our students. He spoke with them about the importance of the roles they currently hold and the valuable skills they are developing by stepping forward to lead their peers.

It was a wonderful opportunity for our senior leaders to speak openly about their ambitions, hear from an experienced national leader and reflect on the contribution they are already making within our College community.

We thank Mr Tehan for taking the time to visit Baimbridge College, meet with our students and present the College with our new Australian, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags.
