Intermediate Boys Netball - EMR
Congratulations to our Intermediate Boys Netball team, who proudly represented Brentwood Secondary College at the Eastern Metropolitan Region Competition.
The boys competed with determination throughout the day, narrowly going down to Norwood Secondary College by just two goals in a closely contested match. They also put in a strong performance against Lilydale Secondary College before facing eventual champions Vermont Secondary College in their final game.
Although the results did not fall our way, the team should be extremely proud of their efforts. Throughout the competition, the boys displayed outstanding school spirit, enthusiasm, and sportsmanship. They worked together as a team, encouraged one another, and showed great respect towards the umpires and their opponents, reflecting the values we strive to uphold at Brentwood Secondary College.
Congratulations to all players on representing the school with pride, resilience, and a positive attitude. Their commitment and teamwork made the school proud.

Intermediate Girls AFLW
On Thursday, July 23, our Intermediate Girls AFLW team represented Brentwood with determination, resilience and great spirit. The day was significantly impacted by industrial action across schools. While 21 Brentwood students had originally committed to play, we were only able to field 13 players on the day. Many other schools were similarly affected, with teams taking the field with just 10, 11 or 15 players.
Despite these challenges, and with more than half the team playing their very first game of AFL, the girls put in a fantastic effort against Norwood and Blackburn. Although we didn't come away with the results on the scoreboard, the team never stopped competing and should be proud of the way they represented the school.
Special mentions go to Kayla Tran, who ran tirelessly all day, Summer "The Goat" Trumble, who fearlessly put her head over the footy in her first-ever game, Zara Athanasopoulos, who stepped up to play her first game in the ruck, and Alessia Di Mingo, who was outstanding at full back and provided plenty of strong defensive efforts throughout the day.
A big thank you to all the girls for their commitment, enthusiasm and willingness to give AFL a go. We also sincerely thank the helpers who assisted on the day and at training, and our coaches, Rohan George and Lok Leung, for the time, effort and dedication they put into preparing the team throughout the term. Your support and hard work are greatly appreciated.

Intermediate Girls Soccer - EMR
Congratulations to our Intermediate Girls Soccer team on a fantastic day of competition at the Eastern Metropolitan tournament. Despite playing in wet and rainy conditions throughout the day, the team showed outstanding determination, teamwork and resilience.
The girls got off to a strong start, defeating Lilydale Secondary College 2–0 before producing another impressive performance to overcome Mount Waverley Secondary College 5–1, finishing on top of their pool and earning a place in the Grand Final.
In the final, the team faced a strong Doncaster Secondary College side and, despite a spirited effort, were defeated 2–0 to finish the day as runners-up.
Team captain Cynthia led from the front all day with her leadership, work rate and positive attitude. Our goal scorers across the tournament were Cynthia (4), Zarya (2) and Stevie (1).
A huge thank you to Gabi for coaching and encouraging the team throughout the day, and to Mr Clayton for giving up his time to officiate as our linesman. Your support was greatly appreciated.
Congratulations to all the players on a fantastic tournament and for representing Brentwood Secondary College with pride, resilience and excellent sportsmanship.
