House Captains Report so far……
It has been a very busy and exciting start to Term 1 for our students, and our House Captains have taken the time to write about their start to the term.
Gurborra House Captains – Indi and Madiba
We have had a fun time working with all the Foundation students over the past few Friday afternoons introducing new games to them. This really helped us to prepare and run our School Senior and Junior House Carnival held recently. Everyone in our school wore their House colours and it looked fantastic. We can’t wait to make this year even more fun and memorable for everyone.
Yanggai House Captains – Sophie and Parker
For the past few weeks, we have been training the new preps by running simple sports. These were aimed to build their resilience and skill building. As a result, the House Sports Carnival ran very smoothly. We are both very excited for the upcoming events. We are so ready to cheer on Yanggai.
Dulai Wurrung House Captains – Eliza and Iarik
The start of the year has been very busy starting with teaching simple games to the preps. This experience helped us for the House Carnival and make it the most fun and memorable experience for all students and House Captains. We hope to make the swimming carnival as fun and memorable and see some great results.
Marram House Captains – Chloe and Mason
This year we have recently had our House Carnival. It was amazing to see such a sea of House colours all together. All the participants had a great time in a fun and friendly environment. Some of the upcoming events are the MPS swimming carnival and cross country.
Murrumbeena Swimmers brave the elements to progress to Bentleigh District Swimming Carnival
The Murrumbeena Primary School spirit shone through even though the sun didn’t, at this year’s annual Swimming Carnival held this Monday for the first time at the Carnegie Memorial Swimming Pool.
The weather was not the best but that did not affect our students as they had a great time competing for their Houses and enjoying the great atmosphere throughout the day.
This was epitomised with our House Freestyle Relay Race reaching fever pitch with Marram winning the race convincingly and who were also the eventual MPS swimming champions for 2026.
Several students really excelled with the likes of Matilda P, Grace C, Jack B, Charlotte B and Aurora F to name a few.
Our MPS team of 28 swimmers go on to compete at the Bentleigh District Swimming Competition today at the Carnegie Memorial Swimming Pool.
It is with great appreciation and thanks to all the MPS staff who did an incredible job with some standouts being the ‘Queen of the Pool’ Miss Avery and the golden voice on the microphone of Mr Sfyridis.
Given the very short turn around between the MPS carnival and the Bentleigh District Carnival a massive thanks goes out to Mr Cook and his tireless work.
We all wish our MPS swimmers the best of luck today at Bentleigh District Swimming Competition and GO BEEEENNNNAA!!
Mr Todd Pullar
