PAT Assessments

At the beginning of Week 2, we began our PAT testing in Kindergarten and Year 1. Students completed the PAT Early Years Reading assessment in small groups. These assessments are done on an iPad with the assistance of headphones, allowing students to access the questions aurally.

The Early Years Reading test consists of five strands of early reading:

print conventions & environmental print
phonics & phonemic awareness
vocabulary
listening comprehension
reading comprehension

The students enjoyed the interactive nature of the assessments while valuable data was collected to measure student learning and guide future teaching and learning practice.

Over the following weeks, students in Years 1-6 will complete the PAT Adaptive Reading and PAT Adaptive Maths assessments.
