Principal's Message

Science Week & Book Week Celebrations

Thank you to all the families who joined us to celebrate Science Week and Book Week. These events are a wonderful opportunity to connect as a community and to share in our students’ love of learning and reading.

A special thank you to our teachers and support staff for their planning and creativity in making these celebrations such a success. It was truly special to see our students’ curiosity, imagination, and joy shine through.

Year 3 Camp

Our Year 3 students left on Wednesday for their first camping experience at Lake Dewar, and we look forward to welcoming them home later today. We have heard wonderful reports about the way the children are challenging themselves, supporting each other, and embracing new experiences. I’m sure they will have many stories to share when they return to school next week.

A big thank you to our staff team and parent helpers for giving their time to ensure the students have a positive and enjoyable camp experience.

Playground Update

The VSBA is working hard to ensure our playground is safe and ready for students to enjoy. Current works include asphalt and concreting, preparing a new garden bed with mulch, laying grass seed, and installing new fencing and handrails. We anticipate that the project will be completed by the middle of September, and we look forward to welcoming students back into the space once it is ready.

Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey

Our school is conducting the annual Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey offered by the Department of Education and is seeking your feedback. The survey is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. The survey is optional, but we encourage and appreciate your participation.

Our school will use the survey results to assist in identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies.

The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey will be open online from Monday 18 August to Friday 19 September 2025. The link and pin were shared with you via a Compass email on Monday.
