Student Voice

At The King's College, student voice is highly valued. The student leadership team meets regularly to discuss ideas and initiatives. Students are encouraged to share their feedback and suggestions with the College Captains, ensuring their voices help shape the school community.

College Captain's Message

Romi and Kenny

The past few weeks have been filled with energy and school spirit. Crocs and Socks Day was a great success, with plenty of creativity on display, followed by Hoodie Day, which reminded us of the importance of celebrating differences while keeping things fun and light-hearted. We are also looking forward to the upcoming Sauage Sizzle for the 40-hour Famine, which will be a fantastic opportunity to enjoy and support the amazing talents in our school community.

In Week 4, we celebrated Science Week, with Miss Hills' year nine class taking the win— a big congratulations to them. Week 5 brought the excitement of Book Week, where costumes, activities, and a love of reading filled the school. It has been wonderful to see so many students getting involved in these events and bringing enthusiasm to every occasion.

Most recently, we held King's Got Talent, which had the highest number of performances ever. The enthusiasm from students was inspiring, and the school spirit on display was incredible. A big highlight was the school leading the way with confidence and talent, making the event one to remember. Congratulations to the House Winners - Carmichael (Primary) and Ellliot (Scondary) - on winning the most points.

We are also excited for the upcoming 40 Hour Famine Challenge, an important event where we raise funds and awareness for children living in poverty. As a school, we have already raised $2,116 towards our $4,000 goal, which is a fantastic effort. You can track our school's progress and see the total donations on the 40 Hour Famine website by searching for our school in the donations section. Students are encouraged to join the school team and take part in this meaningful challenge. Read more here.

Thank you to everyone for your participation and support. We look forward to the weeks ahead and all that is to come in our school community.

The Bible Society Masterclass

Kiandra H. | Ministry Captain

The Bible Society Masterclass was an opportunity where we were able to take a group of 36 students from Years 8 to 12 on a Christian Education excursion. We travelled to Mount Pleasant Baptist Church with several other schools from around Perth and Bunbury. The day consisted of four sessions where we were taught about creation, embracing the awkwardness in person and sharing the gospel with others. The best part of the day was connecting with students from other schools, such as Kennedy Baptist College, Carey Baptist College, Swan Christian College, and many other schools, to discuss the sessions and hear about their school programs. The biggest impact for me was the opportunity to connect with other schools and encourage each other in the things of God. It was a chance to unite in faith to see the Kingdom of God advanced in all our Perth Christian schools.

A Stitch in Time Incursion

Year 6 Students

Our Year 6 students attended a mental health workshop covering the five pillars of mental health: physical actions, emotion regulation, managing your mind, presence, connection and support. Each topic is followed by activities to assist students in building a toolbox of strategies they can put into place during life's challenges.  Hear our students' thoughts about the event below.

What I liked about A Stitch in Time was that it was such a nice experience. It really taught us how to deal with our emotions and different strategies we can use that are quiet and can be used wherever we are.  I also liked that the person running it made time to play games that were really enjoyable. | Michelle

The Stitch in Time Incursion was a really fun experience as we could relate it to some of the things we talk about at school in our classroom. It was great to be a part of. | Kendal

I loved it so much and enjoyed spending time with people and friends. | Charlotte

At a Stitch in Time, I learnt how to grow my mental health and about different ways to calm myself down during hard times. | Ella

I enjoyed talking about the importance of mental health and how it can effect your body. | Alex
