National Tree Day began in 1996 and has grown into Australia’s largest community tree planting and nature care event. People all across Australia get their hands dirty (and muddy!) by planting trees for National Tree Day. We celebrate Schools Tree Day and National Tree Day on the last Friday and Sunday in July.

This year, we were honoured to have MP Jodie Belyea attend our school to plant a tree in our front garden.

On June 27th, the District Athletics was hosted at Ballam Park, where the following schools competed: Seaford Park, Kananook, Belvedere, Saint Anne’s, Aldercourt, and Mahogany Rise.

The events were: 80m hurdles, 100m sprint, 100m championships, 200m sprint, 400m sprint, 800m sprint, relay, 5km race, long jump, high jump, triple jump, shot put, and discus.

Congratulations to everyone who competed in athletics! A special well done to all the relay teams — even though we made a few mistakes, we still did well, had fun, and that’s what it’s all about. 😊

Starting this term, the house captains are planning to hand out sports equipment at the start of recess and lunch for all students to use. Hopefully, we can get the sports equipment in use again soon.
