Dear Families,
The enterprise bargaining process has been particularly visible across our College community this week, reflecting how deeply our people care about Overnewton, our staff and the future of the College.
I would like to thank everyone for the respectful way our community navigated this week’s industrial action. It has also been heartening to see such strong recognition of the contribution our staff make to Overnewton. Their expertise, commitment and care are central to the experience of our students, and it is clear how deeply they are valued by us all.
As negotiations continue, we remain committed to reaching an agreement that recognises the contribution of staff and ensures Overnewton can continue to produce great results for students, both now and into the future. We share parents’ desire to keep fees as affordable as possible, however, it is important for families to understand that the majority of the College’s costs relate to staff salaries. I know that, together, we share a commitment to finding a way forward that balances the expectations of our people, our students and the broader community.
We are also committed to minimising disruption to students and families as much as possible. Where industrial action may affect College activities, we will communicate confirmed arrangements as early as we can and put appropriate alternatives in place wherever possible.
