Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers

As we come to the close of Term 3, I would like to wish you all a very safe and happy holiday. School will return on Tuesday 13 October for students. The school office will reopen on Monday 12 October.

Monday 12 October is Staff Development Day, and staff will be engaging in professional learning throughout the day. Our professional learning will relate to the new Student Code of Conduct and updating our student wellbeing practices to reflect the new Student Code. We will also focus on the new NSW Antibullying policy and how this be will reflected in our School Behaviour Support and Management Plan, which will be made available to all parents, carers and community members on our school website. 

These updated plans will require community consultation. Once a date has been confirmed, an invitation will be sent to all parents and carers to provide an opportunity to review the plans and contribute feedback.

I am extremely disappointed in receiving emails from concerned community members about the behaviour of some of our students at the new shop while in school uniform. Police have also been made aware of the concerns.  This behaviour is not acceptable at any time. The Student Code of Conduct states that students need to follow the Code when in the community and in school uniform. 

If your child frequents the shop, please take the time to remind them of the importance of being respectful, courteous and considerate towards the shop owners, staff and other members of our community who use the service.

Our students are representatives of our school, even when they are outside the school grounds, and we expect them to demonstrate the respectful behaviour we promote at school.

We wish all of our former students the very best of luck as they prepare for and sit their HSC exams next term. It was wonderful seeing a large group today proudly wearing their old Eglinton Public School uniform and visiting their old classrooms. We hope they enjoyed the opportunity to return to where so many wonderful memories were made.

Student Code of Conduct

The Student Code of Conduct applies to all NSW public school students. It applies to all school activities, both on and off the school site, including online, and how students conduct themselves individually and with other students, teachers, school staff and community members.

Teachers will continue to refer to the Student Code of Conduct throughout Terms 3 and 4 to ensure all students have a clear understanding of the expectations and the positive behaviours that help create a safe, respectful and supportive learning environment.
