EarlyAct News

Last Tuesday night, our EarlyAct Club were invited to Rowville-Lysterfield’s Rotary meeting and dinner. The room was abuzz with 20 Park Ridge students, four staff and a large group of Rotarians sharing a meal and conversation.
The EarlyAct Club members delivered a presentation, sharing all the exciting projects they had been working on this year, including:
Raising funds for the Good Friday Appeal and Fight MND
Raising $1,300 from Zooper Dooper sales to provide sports equipment and games to the Family Care School in Uganda
Hosting a giant Teddy Bear picnic and “Guess which staff member owns the teddy” competition
Running the Open Night Bake Sale and using the proceeds to begin to replace broken sports stands in classrooms
The students also ran a “Guess the celebrity” contest with the Rotarians, which was an absolute hit. Can you work out who this celebrity is?
I was born in Mackay, Queensland, in 1973.
I represented Australia at four Olympic Games.
I carried both the Australian and Aboriginal flags after winning a race at the 1994 Commonwealth Games.
I won the gold medal in the 400 metres at the Sydney Olympics in 2000.
The Rowville-Lysterfield Rotary Club has kindly donated an EarlyAct flag and banner that we can display at our stalls, as well as an official gavel for our meetings. We are so grateful for the connection we have with them.
Thank-you for your support.
