What has been happening in the Years 5-6 classroom?

5/6 are Global Citizens

Ni hao! 

5/6 have been continuing learning Chinese this semester. The language program in our school allows us to build global citizens by exposing our students to the life of people in China. Students not only develop language skills, but gain a curiosity and appreciation of other cultures. This helps to create a more interconnected, peaceful and empathetic world for all.

So far this term, students have been learning Chinese vocabulary including activities and sports, days of the week, describing schedules, types of clothing and colours.

During the lesson the students have a lot of fun playing language games with the Chinese teacher, Ma Jun. They take many notes, watch clips and learn their new vocabulary in kinaesthetic ways with movements and songs. Students also have many opportunities to practise their new Chinese vocabulary with each other.
