Message from the Principal Team
Dear Students, Guardians, Staff and Community members,
As we approach the end of another semester at Craigieburn Secondary College, it is with great pleasure that we reflect on the achievements and challenges we have experienced together as a school community. These past months have been particularly eventful, marked by important milestones and diligent efforts from both our students and teachers.

Our Year 10 and 11 students have demonstrated exceptional commitment and resilience during their mid-year examinations, as did our Unit 3 & 4 students when completing the GAT. These assessments serve not only as a measure of academic progress, but also a testament to the dedication and hard work of our students. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to each student for their efforts and encourage them to continue striving for excellence in all their pursuits.
We would also like to acknowledge the unwavering support provided by our teachers and administrative staff in preparing our students for these assessments. Your dedication to fostering a nurturing learning environment is truly commendable and greatly appreciated.
In addition to academic achievements, our students have had enriching opportunities through excursions this semester. The excursions provided valuable cultural and educational experiences, allowing students to explore diverse aspects of urban life and history. These trips not only broadened their horizons, but also fostered teamwork and social skills outside the classroom.
Moreover, our Year 7 science excursion was a resounding success, with students engaging in hands-on learning and fieldwork that deepened their understanding of scientific principles. These experiences are integral to our commitment to provide a well-rounded education that extends beyond textbooks.
In light of technological advancements, we have become increasingly aware of the potential challenges posed by emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence. Recently, concerns have been raised regarding the misuse of AI to manipulate images of staff and students. We wish to assure you that safeguarding the welfare and privacy of everyone within our school community remains our utmost priority.
Our school has implemented robust measures to educate our students about responsible AI usage and the associated ethical implications. We are committed to promoting digital citizenship and ensuring that our students understand the importance of respecting privacy and consent in all forms of communication.
Furthermore, our IT department continues to work diligently to enhance our cybersecurity protocols to prevent unauthorised use of AI technology for malicious purposes. We encourage students, parents, and staff to remain vigilant and report any concerns promptly to our administration.
As we look ahead to the next semester and beyond, we are confident that with the continued support of our dedicated staff, committed students, and supportive parents, we will achieve even greater success and further strengthen our school community.
Thank you once again for your ongoing support and collaboration. Together, we will continue to nurture a learning environment where every individual can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Wishing you all a restful and rejuvenating break.
Kind regards,
Principal Team.
