Working Bee

A sincere thank you to all of the parents, families, and community members who gave up their time to support our recent school working bee. Your willingness to help and contribute to our school environment is greatly appreciated.

Student reporting update

As communicated previously via Compass, please see below an update regarding Semester 1 student reporting.

Student achievement reports for Semester 1 will be distributed on Friday 26th June as scheduled. These reports will continue to provide important information regarding each student’s learning progress and achievement. However, due to industrial action undertaken earlier this term by the Australian Education Union, full descriptive comments will not be included in this semester’s reports.

We will of course be pleased to discuss with you your child’s progress at our next parent-teacher interviews scheduled for Week 2 in Term 3, or, as always, you can contact your child’s classroom teacher for further discussion.

Open Morning

Thank you to all of the parents, carers, and family members who attended our recent Open Morning. It was wonderful to welcome so many members of our school community into classrooms and learning spaces to see our students engaged in their learning.

Administration

Recently our office staff have experienced a noticeable increase in requests throughout the school day that, whilst important to individual families, are often non-urgent in nature. These can include last-minute items being dropped off, requests for messages to be passed on to students, and requests for information already available through our regular communication channels.

To help us maintain an efficient and smooth-running office, we kindly ask families to:

  • Check the school calendar, newsletter, or website before contacting the office for information that has already been published/shared.
  • Ensure students arrive at school with everything they need for the day, including lunches, drink bottles, hats and a change of clothes, where required.
  • Keep phone messages and requests to essential matters where possible, particularly plans for school pick up.
  • Submit attendance notes on Compass, wherever possible.

We understand that unexpected situations do arise, and we are always here to assist with important matters and emergencies. We greatly appreciate your understanding, support, and partnership in helping our school operate effectively for all students and families.

We acknowledge the Bunurong people, the Traditional

Owners of the land on which Baxter Primary School resides, and pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.
