Principal Message

Be Kind, Be safe, Be respectful, Be responsible, Be resilient, Be ready
Dear Families,
I hope all families enjoyed the extended long weekend and the beautiful winter sunshine it brought. It was a wonderful opportunity to spend time with family and friends and recharge for the busy weeks ahead.
We are thrilled to officially begin our partnership with Elysium Before and After School Care. Elysium specialises in supporting smaller school communities and is eager to get to know our students and families as they work alongside us to create an outstanding care program. We look forward to seeing this partnership grow and provide additional support and opportunities for our community.
We also extend our sincere thanks to Jacinda Tillotson, our Senior Teacher, who has generously offered her gymnastics coaching expertise to our Foundation, Junior and Middle classes on Fridays. Through a Sporting Schools grant, our school has been able to provide gymnastics coaching and purchase new gymnastics equipment. Thanks to Jay's generosity of both time and qualifications, we have been able to redirect funding towards the purchase of a large crash mat, which will benefit not only our gymnastics program but also other sporting activities, including high jump.
Our Senior students have continued to enjoy participating in District and Division Sports events, representing our school with enthusiasm, determination and excellent sportsmanship. We wish all students competing in the upcoming soccer competition this Friday the very best of luck.
As part of their Community Engagement learning, our Senior students have also been visiting Phillip Island Community Care. Their visits have brought great joy to residents and provided meaningful opportunities for students to connect with and serve members of our wider community.
Our Seniors continue to make us incredibly proud through their leadership of the St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal. Their commitment to supporting those in need demonstrates a genuine understanding of faith in action and reflects the values we strive to nurture at Our Lady Star of the Sea. Their dedication, compassion and initiative have been truly remarkable.
Our youngest learners in Foundation continue to make us incredibly proud. Last Friday, they celebrated Milo's Birthday Party, marking the significant milestone of learning all the sounds and letters of the alphabet. It was wonderful to see their excitement and sense of achievement. What bright little stars they are!
As we approach the end of the term, it is hard to believe that there are only two and a half weeks of school remaining. While there is still much learning, excitement and activity ahead, this is also a wonderful time to reflect on the achievements and growth we have seen throughout the semester. Thank you for your continued support, and I wish all families a positive and productive finish to Term 2.
Warm regards,
Pamela McKillop
