Term 2 Week 7

Only 3 weeks left of term and one of them is a short one. This week marked the official start of winter and the weather has certainly helped to remind us of that. We started the week with a hot chocolate treat for all the students at recess on Monday to mark the beginning of the new season, everyone seemed pretty happy with a hot chocolate and a marshmallow.
Getting around to some of the classes this week I have noticed everyone being very busy finalising their work, preparing for the end of semester showcase and, for our Year 10 students, preparing for exams and work experience.
This week we had students head out for the district cross country event at Princes Park, they braved the inclement weather and represented the school very well. We also had students completing their attitude to school survey and some additional NAPLAN assessments. Our Year 8 Engage students are out rockclimbing as I write this and our Reading class students are preparing for their Pizza lunch to celebrate the hard work they have been putting in before school to develop their reading skills.
Looking ahead to next week
Monday - Kings Birthday Public Holiday and official opening of the Ski Season.
Tuesday - Year 10 Exams Begin: The first exam is at 10:45 on Tuesday, Its English and it is happening in the TDU. Year 10 students should arrive by 10:30 to ensure they have time to organise themselves before the exam begins. There are no classes running for Year 10 students for the next 2 weeks. During the exam period students attend their exams as required.
Thursday - Wurun Senior information evening: This event is for our current Year 10 students and families / carers. Please join us from 6:30 onwards.
